COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our smoked porter has hints of vanilla bean, American Red Oak, and Scottish peat. This full-bodied American Porter is best enjoyed with friends sitting around a pine tree bonfire on bench seats ripped from an old van in the middle of a quiet New Jersey snow storm in December.

Sampled at Big Brew Beer Festival (Morristown). Poured a dark brown color with a huge foamy tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, and vanilla. Taste was watered down chocolate, roasted malt, and caramel.

Should be my 100th porter. Bottle, probably the first rate from their initial 12oz bottling, everything else from before being bigger or draft. Nose is lightly sweet, smoky and a little meaty. Pours dark, opaque brown leaning toward black with a fizzy/noisy tan head. Taste is woody with light tang alongside the sweetness, has a really nice subtle smokiness with the woody character, but this is decidedly a classically-styled porter, no big salty chocolate or heavy roast, and not really bitter at all. Medium body, mild fruit/vanilla and concealed alcohol. I trust they’ll work out the (very airy) yeast issues with time.

Tap at crab/beer fest thing. Pours deep black with a small light brown head. Aromas of roasted malts, metal, light coffee, and a touch of smoke. The flavor is full of roasted goodness, light coffee, some toffee notes, and finishing a bit dry. Decent drinking and middle road.

Draft at the brewery with Linh, Mom and Scarlett. Pours a deep brown body with thin brown lacing. Aroma is smoked malt and peat. Mouthfeel is medium to light with notes of deep roasted malt and peaty smoke.

Aroma is off with smoking rubber, slight coffee notes. Pours black with a brewpub head. Taste is more roasted rubber, campfire, and barbeque sauce. Not a good porter.

Black with a dark head. NIce chocolate and vanilla, roasted malts with noticeable earthy hops. Powdered cocoa comes on in the end. Medium, slick body. Good porter.

Very nice beer. Pours a dark brown almost black with a creamy lacing head. The aroma has some milk chocolate and a lot of roast malts. It is quite sweet with the chocolate up front and a nice smokiness in the back. The beer is very smooth.

No bottling information.
Appearace: The body is pitch black through the center, light only exposed through the edges showing a dark and clear brown body. The head is thick with great retention that settles into a thick ring and a light coating with lots of lacing.
Aroma: Cocoa and smoked malts come to mind, slightly peaty like a scotch, perhaps a touch of smoked meats. Interesting aroma.
Taste: Vanilla is the first thing that comes to mind, but it’s quickly balanced by cocoa and peat, there’s a touch of a roasted flavor and the finish is slightly peaty that lingers for a while. This is very interesting.
Palate: Medium bodied, oily texture and soft carbonation.
Overall: This is a good and very interesting porter. The peat is a very interesting take and while I enjoy it, it does distract a little from the overall flavor rather than add to it. I would have like a more traditional beechwood smoke than peat here. This is well worth trying though, in-fact I think you should!
