COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With dense fog, bitter cold, brutal winds and heavy snow, 6,288-foot high Mount Washington has earned its reputation for the "world's worst weather". In 1934, the Mount Washington Observatory recorded a wind gust of 231 mph - a world record to this day. To commemorate this legendary institution, Tuckerman Brewing Company donates a portion of the proceeds from the sale of this Sixty-Two Eighty-Eight Stout to the Mount Washington Observatory.

Pours a solid dark brown color with a decent sized tan head that shows some persistence. Smells roasty and fruity with bits of earth and caramel strewn about. Taste follows the smell fairly well, but there is more caramel than coffee and roast. Dark dried fruits and caramels are quite prevalent almost dopplebock like qualities. Medium to thick body with a moderate level of carbonation and a slick sweet burnt sugary mouthfeel. This is not a bad beer, but it really needs some more roast and some chocolate flavor would help as well.

Bottle: Pours a clear ruby with a thin tan head, aroma has coffee and dark fruits, starts and ends lightly sweet with a chocolate ending, medium bodied with a sticky ending.

12 ounce thanks to AirForceHops. New beer to me. Nice looking beer with big tan head. Taste is a bit metallic up front. Thin. Lacks chocolate or roast flavor. Drinkable but missing stout traits. Mediocre.

12 oz bottle. Pours a deep brown with small tan head. Very nice lacing in my pint glass. Looks much like other ordinary stouts. Palate is a bit thin for a stout with low carbonation. Nose is malt, barley and chocolate. Flavor is mostly roasted malt with a hint of bitter chocolate. Let this warm to near room temperature for best flavor. Over all very standard. But still drinkable and clean.

12 oz bottle courtesy of a trade with BrooHa. Pours black with a moderate tan head that fades to a film after the first two sips and leaves very light lace. Light aroma of roasted malt and just a whiff of coffee. The flavor is equally mild with roasted malt and just a hint of coffee. Very mild chocolate emerges at the finish. A bit light in body.

Pours a very dark brown/light black. No head at all. Nose of chocolate, yeast, raisin, roasted malt and hops. Odd flavors. Grape, a little sour. No roast characteristic at all. Slight chocolate. Thick mouth feel. Carbonation is a little sharp. Expected it to be smoother from the lack of head. Not impressive at all. Disappointing. With such a neat story, I expected a lot more.

12 ounce bottle in pint glass. Black with ring and lace. Roast burnt chocolate and fruit aroma. Roasted burnt coffee and dark fruit with bitter fruity finish. Oily with carbo bite. Lacking any richness.

Pours brown with a tan head. Smells of sweet malt and earthy. Tastes sweet with some tarte hints on the finish.
