2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A very average brown ale. Pours brown with a foamy white head. Has aroma of malt, nuts and some sour notes. Flavor grew on me- definitely don’t serve to cold.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JUL 13, 2006 Re-rate: After a few of these, I am beginning to see the better points. Nutty-Bready aroma. Rich copper color. Pours nicely into a glass with nice foamy tan head. Nice carbonation - tiny little bubbles rising. Flavor is very smmoth and drinkable. I will buy this one again!

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
In the bottle. This was a June 2006 Beer-of-the-month club selection. Thanks to p-man for the beer. A hazy, light brown/dark amber beer. Roasted german lager aroma with a bit of the dough-like smell. medium flavor profile, has a roasted malty taste, but not much of either. I’m not sure what the slight vegetable off flavor is, but it is only faint. The thin body makes for a whimpering finish.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
From a bottle poured a copper/brown with a nice head. Nice bitterness to end, not particularly nutty. Nothing special.
As a side note, if you get the 12 oz bottle it has one of the worst indistinguishable labels I have ever seen. Use better art please!

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Brown, red appearance. Medium off-white head. Mild caramel malt in aroma. Flavor similar, light roastiness in finish. Could use a little more umph.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 oz. bottle. Pours a somewhat hazy copper color with a decent off-white head. Pleasant aroma of malt and yeast. The taste initially was very weak, almost washed out. I actually came close to pouring this one down the drain. As it warmed a bit in the glass (since I didn’t care for it initially I wasn’t drinking it particularly quickly), the flavors became a bit more pronounced, although still weak. Watery body.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This alt pours a deep brown color from a 1oz bottle. Large sized white foamy head. Aroma is caramel, a touch earthy and a little bit of orange. A medium bodied alt. Malts are caramel and slightly sweet. Hops are earthy, a touch sour and herbal. Nice balance. Smooth taste. It has a little too much of the herbal hops thing going on though. Its kind of muddies up the flavor a little. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Interesting alt, but a bit weak on all fronts. The aroma was nothing special. Nice appearance, though, of a translucent reddish-brown. Flavor was missing a lot of character (esp. in the malts), and had an odd finish. Very watery, wet palate. Overall, about average. Keep working on this one Tuckerman!
