3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a stange.
The appearance had a decent somewhat clear red color with a decent half finger white foamy head that gracefully dissipated into the beer. There was some light lacing sticking nicely to the glass.
The smell had a decent roasted nuttiness blended into a light caramel maltiness.
The taste was somewhat sweet with a semi-thick nutty breadiness.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium with a decent sessionability about it.
Overall, not a bad altbier, though this could have also gone as an American Amber/Red, no worries as I’d have it again if available.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Crazy carbo results in a towering beige head on a slightly hazy copper body. Low aroma, principally grainy with light caramel. Grainy body as well, light fruity caramel, slightly reedy with a sharp hoppy bite. I much preferred the Altitude, which apparently is the original recipe for this beer? Should have stuck with Plan A.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Poured from bottle to glass. Poured a dark copper with an initially thick amber head with medium lacing. The head dissipated quickly to a very thin head. Aroma is caramel with subtle coffee and a bit floral. Tastes a bit of coffee, some hops, malty, and a bit of something green. Light mouthfeel, a bit of astringency on the finish. Long finish, but not particularly pleasant.
