Pours a clear golden amber with a huge bubbly off white head that slowly recedes and leaves a moderate amount of lace. Smells of earthy and floral hops, biscuity almost pilsner like malt aroma, with hints of citrus. Taste follow the nose fairly well, biscuity almost honey sweet malt with earthy citrus and floral hops to counter. Medium thin body with a bready sweet watery mouthfeel and a moderate to high level of carbonation. This is a really nice pale ale for 1998, but kind of pedestrian by today’s standards. Well made, nothing objectionable, but nothing really exciting here either. Kudos for bottle conditioning though!

Decent beer at first, but a little too bitter in the finish, which left me with a pretty harsh impression. Had this at a Pat’s tailgate, so it may have been mistreated in the past.

Bottle in a wine glass. Golden with an off white head. Aroma of citrusy hops and pale/caramel malts. Flavor the same. Average texture. A decent beer.

bottle, from some grocery store in Conway NH. 7/4/11. best by October. Ok aroma, sweet grassy, doughy. Yellow orange color. Small head, minor lace. Bitter flavor. Medium body, smooth mouthfeel, bitter finish. Ok, drinkable everyday kind of pale ale. kind of surpised I didn’t already have notes on it, but overall, nothing bad, nothing great. solid pale.

On tap @ The Page, Portsmouth, NH Color was a pale yellow color, small layer of white head, nearly no lacing. Light grapefruit on the nose. Taste was of malt and slight grapefruit hops. No bitterness at all, which I like a lot. High carbonation the left the mouth dry on the finish. Even with the dry finish it leaves you thirsting for more. Easy drinker. I could drink large amounts of this and feel no shame.

12 oz bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy dark gold body with a nice frothy one finger beige head that had excellent retention. The hopping is fairly light even for an APA, some slight leafy and floral qualities. Some biscuity and lightly toasted maltiness below. The flavor is lightly bitter, seems to have more of an English Pale Ale character than American, with the green leafy hoppiness. Light biscuity maltiness provides the framework. Lighter bodied and rather lively on the tongue, it’s quite drinkable. Nothing that will blow you away, but I have no trouble polishing off a few of these in a sitting.
