COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Stout lovers come back again and again, drinking and attempting to describe what it is that makes our stout so pleasantly different. Our guarded recipe makes for a memorable stout experience. We know what makes it so great, and we aren't telling. It took us 4 years of development to make it this good. Ask for a pint and try to figure it out for yourself.

Deep black color. No head and slightly under carbonated. Black licorice on the nose. Roasted but thin on the palate.

This beer might be the most vile beverage I’ve ever imbibed. Pours a deep black color with a thin brown head. This is honestly the best part of this beer. Sadly, I didn’t just look at it. I kept going. Aroma was a mix of meat, soy-sauce, sweat , stale carpet and roast. Now you might be wondering to yourself "why would someone drink something that smelled like that?". Because I’m a goddamn soldier and I do it so you don’t have to! I took one for you buddy! As you can imagine the taste was...traumatic. Unbalanced throughout. Yes there’s roast and some faint chocolate but this is all polluted by the confusing presence of soy sauce and drywall. It’s salty, meaty, soy-saucy and chalky with some alcohol presence also. Mouthfeel was excellent though! HAHAHA...J/K! It felt slick and greasy, while at the same time leaving a lingering bitter saltiness. There is something terribly, terribly wrong with this stuff. The brewery should cut their losses and distill this and use it as fuel. At least then it’d be doing some good. What an abomination...

On tap at Tugboat, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of feet, sweat socks, rotting burnt wood – disgusting. Flavour is very metallic and offensive, with sweat socks, dirty feet, turpentine – this is just revolting – what the hell are they thinking? Extremely offensive on the palate. Not alcoholic, which is a feat for it being 13+%, but the nasty flavours don’t make that matter. Maybe they named this after nuclear radiation because this is completely deranged. Gross. 3-4 sips, then we left our glass and walked out of the tasting room.

Draught at the brewpub
Aroma is sour with oat and some coffee. Flavour is sour with coffee, roasted malt and hints of chocolate. Hides the ABV very well. Too sour, feels contaminated.

Coffee colored with thin crema. Aroma of piney hops and a bit of chocolate. It's only slightly sweet, and fairly roasty with no alcohol apparent. Last PDX beer , #1500 ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Black without a head. Aroma is slightly smoky. Taste is a little sweet without a ridiculous alcohol taste. You have to remember this is 13%. At a third of the strength of vodka you have to expect a little harshness. Overall a nice imperial stout.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a pure black color with no head. The aroma is big caramel and something akin to licorice. The flavor is odd; sweet honey and earthiness, caramel, a very light bit of roast, oddly sweet and mellow, more licorice. Very smooth and warm. Not very good, but OK.

Tap at the brewery - sadly, the only interesting beer on tap at the time a dark brown pour - aroma of ash, dough, tobacco, dark fruit, chocolate - flavor is ashy, bitter, abrasive - a bit of charred malt and smoke - some blueberry - strong alcohol burn - strong ashy character - pretty fucking lame - boy, am I sorry I came in here.
