COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
’East India Pale Ale’ was first brewed in England last century for the colonies East of India such as New Zealand and Australia. The beer was unpasteurised and secondary fermentation occured in the bottle during the long journey. Thirsty settlers loved its natural effervescent character and we reckon it still hits the spot today.
Brewer’s Comment: This fine ale is a thoroughly refreshing beer with a light palate best suited to beaches, barbecues and all beer related occasions.
Serving Suggestions: Serve lightly chilled on its own or with any manner of barbecued meats. At restaurants, or when trying to impress others, try and use a glass. Do not mix with salad.
Cellaring: Yeah right!

This is my favourite mass produced beer from my home country, New Zealand, which is why I’m giving it full marks though most of people are a little right in saying that it is not the finest beer in the world. Great for the sun, not too hoppy, rather amber in colour, smells pretty damn good, tastes the same and the marketing is the best I’ve ever seen, ever!

A refreshing aroma with 4% alcohol content makes it perfect refreshment for summer. Bottle, 330 ml with a neck shorter than that of, for instance, Corona. Taste, light sweetness. Light body. Good for happy hours.

Clear red-brown color with foam layer. The smell is much like wet grains with no really recognizable hopping. The most present thing in the taste is the carbonation, even though it is not massively overdone. It has a sweetness with a malty character and it lacks a style corresponding hopping. Calm aftertaste. I would rather characterize it as an amber lager or a red ale.

330ml Dose. Kastanienfarbebes Bier. Malziges Aroma, wenig Hopfen. Süffiger flacher Geschmack. Kein Pale Ale, der Name täuscht!

Butelka. Generalnie jedno ze słabszych piw spożytych na Nowej Zelandii. Brak pełnego wysycenia, słaba goryczka a i reszta też do kitu. Polecam tylko na upały i jako ciekawostkę.

Draft. What the actual f***? This is not in any world a freaking IPA. Amber color. The aroma is MALT. NOTHING BUT MALT. This is like a bad altbier or some shit. Flavor of MALT. Is there A hop in this, let alone many hops to necessitate a hop rack? Palate is meh. Listen guys, you can’t brew an American adjunct lager and call it an imperial stout. You’re similarly off here. Learn to brew.

This slightly foamy IPA has virtually no aroma. Only a little bit of caramel may be suggested. When I taste I’m are in doubt about whether it is an IPA, for it is only a little caramel malt with a little watery hoppy bitterness in the final. I have tasted discount lagers with more hop bitterness than this IPA. If you choose to print the text ’India Pale Ale’ on a label, then you should also fill in hops so the beer has an IBU more than 2.

Someone should approach the ’brewers’ of this muck at the Tui Brewery and ask them to define ’East India Pale Ale’, because it sure as hell don’t taste like one, and to top it off, it doesn’t even warrant the title ’ale’ or ’beer’ for that matter. What a shocker! Extremely insipid and utter Yuck!

Bottle 33cl. Clear deep amber, small frothy white to off-white head, settles quickly, light lacing; shy nose, malty, caramel, bit toasted; taste light medium sweet and bitter, malty, caramel; light body, oily to watery texture, soft carbonation, light sweetbitter aftertaste, herbal notes, bit watery; not an IPA at all but drinkable anyway.

Butilka: Clear, deep amber coloured, lazy carbonation, rapidly collapsing off-white head; mild sweetish-caramelly nose, some vegetables detectable, but in opposite to the vegetables are the hops very hard to find; mild sweetish-bitter flavour, light bodied; a faint malty bitterness shows up short caramelly finish. An IPA? Oh no…
