A partnership between the Black Wolf Brewery and Tullibardine distillery has produced something special - a unique beer with a light whisky aroma and clean fresh aftertaste. Once bitten, forever smitten.

An amber coloured ale with a slim transient white head. Chunk of vanilla and wood in the aroma. Taste whisky flavour and that vanilla again, sweet taste yet dry finish seemed a bit incongruous to me and somewhat of a let down, was sort of expecting more.

Thin head that doesnít last long. Clear body and golden colour. Smells whisky okay, but not that much. I also smell peat and alcohol. It has a weak whisky taste as if the beer was watered-down aven although there are hints of caramel and peat once again and finishes with a long woody after taste. Wonít buy this one again, the taste is too weak and reminds me having whisky with water...

ExtraŮa cerveza ahumada que con los tragos mejora, aunque al principio solo puedes en lo rara que es. Distinta, pero no creo que repita.

bottle. pours a golds colours with some fine carbonation present. Aroma os malty/corny, not much else. Medium body, medium carbonation. Itís just nasty - metallic with a weird chemically thing. Astringent. Bad. Drain pour.

Bottle, june 13th 2013. Unclear light amber body, quickly disappearing white head. At least I think it was white, by the time Iíd noted the beer name and lifted the glass it had all vanished. Never a good sign. Light aroma, some peated malt, wood, apples and whisky. Not bad, just have to look hard to find it. Indeed, bad is a word Iíd rather use to describe the taste. First itís very sweet caramel malt, now whatís wrong with that you might ask, nothing, the fault lies in the seriously way too strong whisky with water taste that comes up next and overshadows everything else. Itís probably not a good whisky cask used either. I donít mind a whisky but I like my beers to have beer elements in the taste. If I want whisky & water I pour my self exactly that. Ok Iím being harsh here as in the aftertaste, when the alcohol taste leaves thereís actually a nice, though a bit too astringent, wood barrell taste that I donít mind. Itís just too little, too late.

28-JUN-2013, bottle @home, from Fish & Beer, present from MinitÝserne. Clear copper with quickly dying almost white head. Aroma is weak whisky and sweet malt. Taste is Smoke, whisky, caramel, toast. Very low bitterness. Thin body, soft carbonation. Not really complex despite the whisky.

Bottle. I really did not enjoy this beer. The whisky maturation does not seem to have had a positive impact on the beer overall.
