2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 VerticalBaconStrips (1904) - Assat, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 13, 2009
Seems like the brewers description is more about how nice the bottle is, not how great the beer is. Oh, and the exported bottle has a plastic shrunk neck and thankfully is lacking the LEAD seal. Lead? Are you kidding me? I want my lead!!!
Poured out a deep gold to amber brew with a small fizzy white head that fades instantly. The aroma doesn’t set itself apart from the other whiskey beers I’ve had but still isn’t that bad: sweet and buttery, slight fruit and some oak (a decent amount). Light on taste with a weak bitterness or dryness on the finish. Watered down whiskey flavour and oak which are decent enough but this leaves an almost a "pop" impression. Some malts noticed near the finish and maybe slight alcohol when warmer. Finishes with lingering wood and buttery taste and a reminder that I should stop buying these overpriced bottles of disappointment. It’s better cooler as the aftertaste becomes sourish.
3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Kristall-König (1901) - Oldenburg, GERMANY - SEP 13, 2011
Ausnahmebier. Ungewöhnlich, aber auch stark alkoholbelastet. Interessant und probierenswert allemal. Test vom 29.11.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche

Bottle from Piedemonte supermarket. Disappointing for the style, unbalanced. Aromas of citrus, nuts, grain and honey. Taste is sweet, with short length. Palate is oily, and slightly watery. Orange, with a thin head.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 visionthing (1725) - Oslo, NORWAY - JAN 12, 2013
33cl bottle from HiperDino Express, Puerto De La Cruz. Pours golden with a white head. Malty and quite fruity aroma with hints of wood, whisky and honey.
Sweet, but balanced. Nice and round malty flavour with well integrated alcohol. Nice beer! (2013-01-05)
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Savvy1982 (1705) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 23, 2009
Bottle. Pours a pale yellow with a thick white foamy head. Nose is plenty of skunk, some earthiness and herbal notes, a bit of whiskey/oaky character. Palate is surprisingly broad, nice mild whiskey oak character, skunky hops continue. A cross between Heineken and Innis & Gunn. Okay, but I have had many other oak-aged beers I liked better. Seems overly carbonated.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 maneliquor (1704) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - NOV 25, 2011
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Not my cup of tea. Reminds me a little bit of a sweet, vanilla toffee apple. Meh
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 TheJestersBeer (1703) - SWEDEN - DEC 30, 2012
Bottled.
Medium to full bodied, off-dry.
Malty, spicy taste, wood, vanilla, whisky notes, and something reminiscent of Madeira or Sherry. Quite complex. (2009-03-06)
2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Habanero (1698) - Tranbjerg, DENMARK - JUN 19, 2010
Bottled. Pours clear, deep golden with a medium sized, white head. Weak nose of whiskey and caramel. Soft carbonation. Sweet flavour of malt, caramel, alcohol and notes of smoked whisky. Light to medium bodied. Watery texture. Thin to creamy palate. Ends up more dry with a little bitterness. OK but nothing special.
