COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottled, Filtered, Occasional;
Yet another addition to the 1488 range - designed to reflect the original character of the beer which was once produced at the brewery sited here. Tullibardine 1488 Ales are distinctive, their characteristic traits beautifully balanced by a depth and complexity so closely associated with Tullibardine Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky. This truly remarkable Ale is best drunk chilled, perhaps being chased by a dram of your favourite Tullibardine Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

500 ml bottle. Clear darker copper, no head. Aroma of scotch and malt. Very flat, woody whisky, medium roast, sweet caramel malt taste, no bitterness, some herbal earthiness. No carbonation, medium body, lightly hopped. A bit peaty near the end. Undated bottle, another dud from Tullibardine. NFL (Not For Lagerboys)

Bärnstensfärgad öl med lätt vitt skum. Doft av malt, lätt trä och alkohol(whiskey). Hyffsad beska på en annars ganska söt öl med antydan av trä och whiskey.

Reddish copper with foam a few bubbles thick. Aroma is toffee, barrels, whisky. Similar tastes, with a strong wood character leading to an unexpectedly tart finish. Quaffable at 4.5%. Pleasant beer, limited by the tartness. Infected?

Reddish brown with medium head. Laces the glass. Malt and dried fruits on the nose. Pretty plain. Mouthfeel is full of carbonation. Finish is good, leaves no aftertaste.

sulawang (621) - British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 29, 2012
pours beer bottle brown, almost no head, micro CO2, minimal lacing, slow-moving CO2 streams, thin ringed retention. A bit of malt on the nose. Starts off very much like a light beer (ie. Coors light), caramel malts in the mids, finishes barely bitter. A very underwhelming flavour profile - almost nothing there except a bit of malt and minor red fruit. Tingly CO2 throughout. Low complexity, low depth, low carry, okay transitions, okay drinkability. Pass on this one.

500ml bottle pours a golden orange color with a 2 finger white head that settles to leave some thin spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is light grains and some flowery hops with some oak and hints of scotch whiskey. Taste is quite malty sweet with some oak and a moderate hoppy bitter finish. Light to medium body and nice carbonation. Recommended bitter style ale.

My wife’s friend brought these over for us to try. I didn’t take great tasting notes. I found it to be malty with definite caramel and lots of fruity notes. Hop presence was minimal. I did pick up a bit of pete.

Bottle 500ml.

Clear medium yellow orange color with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, toffee notes, light hoppy. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium to light, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20100709]
