Tap. Hazy pinkish pale amber with a lasting white head. Aroma of grain, honey, peach bubblegum, pepper, wheaty lemon, vanilla. Smooth, slightly creamy. Tastes as it smells, leans towards sweet although bitterness is certainly there. Dry and a little spicy at the end. Mildly disconcerting in that it comes across as a pale ale but reminds you of Weihenstephan wheat beers at every turn. Could use a little more bitterness.

PotjeBier (1580) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - AUG 18, 2012
On tap @ Beer Temple. Amber color, slightly hazy. White head, with a small layer retaining. Aroma’ s: sweetish, candies (schuimpjes), wheat, fruity, a hint of acidity. Flavor is medium sweet with a hint of (fruity) acidity. Light to medium body. Finishes medium bitter. Nice & refreshing, clearly more hops than a regular Weizen.

Draft at Land O Lakes World of Beer. Pours a slightly hazed amber color with an off white head. Aroma has a nice mixture of malt and hops. Flavor is more malty than hoppy but there is some bitterness in the finish. Overall not bad and an interesting German take on an American Pale Ale.

Growler from Ale Yeah! Pours nice gold with a medium, off-white head. The aroma is cloves, citrusy hops, hay, white bread, and mild cheesy yeast. The flavor is fruity sweetness and mild hop bitterness. The palate is light to medium, sticky, and nicely effervescent. Overall, this is a well made pale ale, made that much better with good yeast.

Martinus (2739) - Nijmegen, NETHERLANDS - AUG 2, 2012
Slightly hazy orange colour, firm white head. Aroma of citrus, yeast, light banana, light floral, some wheat. Somewhat reminding of a Kristalweizen, but more hop notes. Light sweet, light bitter flavour. Fruity finish, light banana.
Nice to see German brewers thinking out of the box. Would be interesting to see more of these kind of beers.
(Draught @ Café Kandinsky, Tilburg)
