Modest amounts of dark malts give this ale both its color and its roasty/toasty flavor. With a moderate bitterness of US hops and balancing full body, from 9 different malts. Due to marketing this beer, while staying the same, has had several names: Boardwalk Brown, Bullies Brown, and now is Nut Brown Ale.

I tried several beers here on my first visit and was pleased at how distinct each beer was. They try hard to be true to style and for the most part succeed. Deep nuttiness up front immediately gets your attention and then the beer mellows to a pleasant finish. Not bad at all.

Tun Tavern Nut Brown Ale-on tap-pours a clear dark brown. Aroma is hazelnut, coffee. Flavor followed the aroma, with it finishing with coffee a little on the bitter side. Not my taste.

On tap at the Tun Tavern in Atlantic City. Poured a medium to darker brown color with a very small sized head. Aromas and tastes of nuts, caramel, and toasted malts. Nice nuttiness to it.

Strong burnt chocolate flavor. Big body. Well balanced with hop bittneress taking a back seat to the big burnt flavor. Woody notes in bitterness.
