Aug 4, 2001 Very nice. Solid, flavorful ale with some real complexities in the nose and taste. Bit harsh on the palate, but I love the roasted malt nose, gorgeous ruby color and full, slowly-dissipating head, and coffee/toffee/anise notes in the body. Not worth going cross-country for, but worth trying if in Vermont.
