johndoughty (1660), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England Mar 21, 2008 Bottle. Orange and slightly cloudy. Some bitterness and very little carbonation.Slight fruitiness with no acidity that bottle conditioned ales usually have. A well crafted, above average bitter. leaparsons (3963), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Aug 23, 2007 Bottle. Chestnut brown with a small head. Aromas are toffee and pear with weetabix, chocolate and some melon. Flavours are toffee and caramel malts with peppery pine hops. Good grapefruit bitterness. A well balanced bitter. hughie (2251), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Feb 26, 2007 Bottle. Quite an ugly beer: muddy brown with an indifferent rather scummy head. I see they describe the colour as ’bronze’. I stand corrected. Malt aroma. Rather oily, sour taste with a medium bitter finish. Didn’t impress, which is a pity as I liked their IPA. jjt (8), Solihull, England does not count Feb 9, 2007 Not a great deal of fruitiness but does have a bitter finish. Doesn’t keep its head very well.
