leaparsons (3798), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Apr 24, 2008 Cask, Leicester Fest 08. Golden with a small white foam. Aromas are biscuit malts with citrus. Sweet and earthy authentic lager hops. Some saltiness. Flavours are dry with lemon and grapefruit. Some herbal notes. Biscuit malts. Not quite a Munich lager but OK. Mes_and_Sim (3927), London, Greater London, England Apr 21, 2008 A Mes rate: Bottle at Coventry Beer Festival. Hazy blonde with a decent persil white head. Slight diacetyl in the aroma, some sulphur too. Just about saved by some reasonable fruity notes. Very buttery flavour that in all honesty is just about tolerable. Slight pukey malt, rather dull and not really close to anything from Munich. maeib (3816), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Mar 15, 2008 Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Leicester BF. A golden coloured beer with a slightly hoppy aroma, with some citrus hints. The taste has hops and citrus flavours. A reasonably robust body and some nice fruity flavours. A good beer but nowt like a Munich lager IMO. jgb9348 (1793), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA Mar 9, 2008 Slightly hazy golden coloured body with an orange tint and a very thin white head. Aroma of very fresh dry hopped cascade hops, along with a plentiful amount of yeast, light sugar, oranges and even a touch of coriander seed. Light to Medium-bodied; Nice sharp hop flavour up front with some lighter malt tastes and a very clean and refreshing coriander seed taste with the yeast still prominent. Aftertaste shows promise and good character - definitely good! Overall, a good lager - more of a dortmunder than anything else - but good! I sampled this 500 mL bottle purchased VERY freshly, when the label wasn’t even on the front... Best before date of: 23-November-2008, from the Tunnel Brewery stand, near the Utobeer Market Stall in Borough Market, London, England on 09-March-2008. DruncanVeasey (1533), Burbage, Germany Feb 8, 2008 Updated: Apr 13, 2008Fresh at The Lord Nelson, Ansley (brewed out back). ’Munich Style Lager’, to be pedantic. Lemony hop aroma backed up with wood and alcohol. Too much citrussy hop fruitiness to be authentically Germanic, but I’m not complaining. Tangy, with faint floral notes (elderflower), straw and biscuit. Decent hoppy ale engulfed by the Late OTT.
