greenmanalishi (174), Leicestershire, England Jun 23, 2008 Bottle - Asda ’local beers’ section, Leicester. Pours a cloudy orange-yellow, with small, clean white head. Aroma is quite astringently sour and lemony. flavour is citric/wheat with an odd bitter, wheatgerm middle and fairly sweet finish. (will have to try this again to work out what that mid-taste is). aggressive carbonation. DruncanVeasey (1533), Burbage, Germany Apr 13, 2008 Bottle, labelled and marketed by the brewer as a hefeweizen. Authentic haze, spritz and fine white suds lacing the glass and going nowhere. Carbonation a touch too aggressive. Aroma lightly citrussy, but from the hops as opposed to the yeast, with a pinch of pepper, but none of ripe banana/bubblegum notes asssociated with the style. More gently citrussy hops in the mouth (Perle), sprinkled with ash and finishing with a lingering crackerbread/ breakfast cereal wheatiness. A well-made, characteristically Tunnel take on the style I really enjoyed once I’d stopped expecting it to taste like Schneider Weisse. leaparsons (3798), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Aug 30, 2007 Cask, Peterborough Fest 07. Hazy orange with small head. Aromas are caramel and wheat with sweet lemon sherbert. Quite spritzy. Flavours are dry with caramel and wheat. Citrus and yeast with a sweet finish. omhper (10140), Stockholm, Sweden Aug 29, 2007 Cask at Peterborough Beer Fest. Murky pale orange. Honey aroma. Fairly sweet with solid body.
