| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 25, 2006 Appearance is amber with a white head which does not linger too long. Aroma is dominated by hops. Taste is also hoppy, and that flavor develops more with continued drinking. However, I found it surprisingly light and refreshing considering the strong hop presence. Doesn’t have the hop bite that would put it into the IPA category. Overall, a refreshing but interesting beer with a nice hop profile. roder60 (1020), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 23, 2006 Slightly hazy amber color with a nice amount of foamy white head. Aroma very hoppy and floral. Flavor pretty standard apa, nice citrus flavor accentuated by a lot of cascade hop bitterness. Overall, pretty decent. jrob21 (1257), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 1/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 14, 2006 Big hops, almost too many. I had had this one years ago and tried it again last night. Bottle at Dave’s. Lots of hops up front that dominates the beer. Negative points for that. I like hops but I don’t want to chew on them. clueo (112), Pennsylvania, USA

The hops are so strong you’ll swear you can smell them with the cap on, If you love hops this is the beer for you. Great amber color. If your ever in the D.C. area stop by the Old Dominion Brewing Co. and taste on tap!! OldRaspy (292), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 23, 2006 Thanks to Immy for this one. Poured from a 12oz bottle a rich amber/yellow. Aroma is all hops. Initial flavor is the same, all hops. The hoppy bitterness fades as it goes down. A clean finish is nice, but I expected a bit more staying power. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 21, 2006 Bottle courtesy of Immy. Thanks Tim! Bottle date 102105. Poured an amber color with an off white head that left some lasting in the glass to produce light lacing. Big hoppy aroma of grapefruit and grass. The flavor was mostly the same (hoppy) with a hint of a chocolate background. Medium body, with a dry texture. Even bitterness throughout. beervana (781), Libertyville, Illinois, USA

Clear light brown ale with small white head. Soft carbonation. Hoppy sweet malt aromas. Medium boded ale that starts dry with tiny malt sweetness and light hop flavor. Finishes dry with light hop bitterness. Well-balanced ale with notable hop profile but not as hoppy as Dominion’s New River pale ale. Very good hoppy drinkable beer. radagast83 (1289), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 28, 2006 Updated: Aug 3, 2007Bottle. I’ve come to re-rate this beer after a long time away from it. After having another one I realize it’s been far too long since I had it last.
Light golden color, with a wonderful hoppy aroma. The flavor is fantastic. The hops are powerful, and I’d hazard to guess that this beer is closer to an IPA, but I certainly understand and can see the APA aspects of this as well. Orginial rating was a 3.6.
