Lovely. Hoppy aroma, hoppy flavor ... and all balanced nicely with the malts. Superior to Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, I think, because it is more assertive. A memorable ale, and one I’ll be drinking more often.

Pours amber with a fine, white head. Aroma is rather hoppy with a moderate mouth feel and a solid hop flavor.

Cloudy amber color with no head on it. It had a slight caramel aroma to it. More hops flavor than I like.

Well, my bottle says 11/30/07..made the end date by a month. Smooth with lots of non- soapy hops.Cloudy amber color. Hop aroma. Not a thick palate, but not watery. Good..I would have bought it again if it wasn’t discontinued.

I have always enjoyed this brew, one of the go-to beers around D.C. for a good long while. Essentially it’s a robust golden pale that’s as heavily hopped as it is creamily malty, an East Coast analogue to SNPA. Hopefully it comes back in circulation.

Doughy, buttery, wheat, and pineapple nose. Dark copper pour with a medium yellow head. Quite complex flavor pine needles, orange, caramel, and walnuts. Marigold finish. Much better than I remember from before rating. The quality has either improved or I’ve developed a much more appreciative palate.

This beer pours with a big head so be careful....this led to some emergency foam removal. The head does stick around for some time though. The ale is a golden color with some haze from the yeast in the bottle. The aroma is hoppy as expected with some malty sweetness in the background. The taste is hoppy, but I find it bitter hoppy. It leaves a bitter aftertaste, I think the best way to describe it would be like resin, which I would prefer to be without. Seems unbalanced in that regard. The body is medium with the right amount of carbonation. A good pale ale, but the hops might be over the top in this one.

I was fortunate to be able to try this beer via a trade with FoamDoam. Orange-copper color with a nice foamy head and a pleasant floral hop aroma. Great bitter, dry, hoppy bite to this with light malt. Quite flavorful and very good.
