Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Oct 19, 2005 Pours a rich amber/yellow. Initial taste and nose is all hops. Sadly, both fade as the glass approaches half full. Hoppy bitterness fades as well. A clean finish is nice, but I expected a bit more staying power. A really good hoppy ale that really could’ve been great with a bit more , well, balls. Very nice on a hot day. TheBeerOrg (1563), Kentucky, USA Oct 17, 2005 Pours orangish with a fully receding white head. Aroma of flowery hops and grapefruit. Tastes of chewy malts and resinous hop oil, with a spicy finish. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Quite bitter with a lingering hop twang. theshocker (329), Marietta, Georgia, USA Oct 16, 2005 Giant lacey off white head. Tan color, looks like iced tea. I liked the beer but the hop aroma and bitterness just don’t blow me away like I was hoping. Goes down with a little sting. reedcd2 (47), USA Oct 13, 2005 A nice hoppy taste. The body has a thick amber unfiltered look. Not too much of a head, but a nice balance of mild bitterness and hops PeterLikesBeer (104), Berwyn Heights, Maryland, USA Oct 11, 2005 Pours with a big white head. color of the beer is a dark amber with some hints of yellow. aroma is very hoppy and some pines. Taste is again very hoppy, bitter and a little sweet. It is a very lasting taste. nicely done. ryan (1774), Beltsville, Maryland, USA Oct 11, 2005 Updated: Dec 5, 2005Pours amber with a hugh frothy white head that is mostly lasting. Nice lacing. Big hops aroma. Citrus and pine dominate, a slight malt underneath. Flavor is also hop dominated (earthy and citrus), but has a solid semisweet malt presence. Medium body, dry and bitter finish. Lively carbonation. A refreshing beer. sammy3D (114), Lawrenceville, Georgia, USA Oct 11, 2005 Poured from a bottle produces a blonde, orange beer. Aroma is hoppy with notes of juniper and pine. Great hop flavor all the way through with grassy, citrus tones from the hops complimenting a slightly malty finish. Good balance with the hops clearing the palate before the next sip. DrBayern (1135), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA Oct 8, 2005 12 oz. bottle. Deep amber with a nicely maintained head. Hoppy aroma with a bit of spicy undertone. Nice malty feel and flavor which offsets the hops. Slightly bitter dry finish which is typical for the style, and refreshing.
