crzybob77 (528), Richmond, Virginia, USA Apr 25, 2004 A pretty darn good pale ale. Has a strong hop bitterness backed up by some sweet citrus. I only payed six bucks for a six pack. Nothing incredibly special about this, but still a good brew. edden (927), cow- lumbus, Ohio, USA Apr 17, 2004 2/29/04: Bottle. Light orange-brown body with a white head and plenty of lacing. The nose has a light and flowery hop quality. Full hop flavor (fir trees) with a slight lemon and citrus finish. In addition, the finish also has a medium bitterness. jzzbassman (838), New Albany, Mississippi, USA Apr 6, 2004 Very good APA. I've become bored with this style, but this had nice balance and lots of hops for the style. JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Apr 3, 2004 Updated: Apr 11, 2004Medium/lg frothy head, amber/gold clear body. Flowery grapefruit hops aroma, which smells good, but is too light. Flavor is thick with bitter hops. Kind of grapefruit rindy. Has a fruity sweetness with some butterscotch, but the bitterness prevails. Creamy texture... very good. crazyvin (1246), New York, USA Apr 1, 2004 very hoppy. not much mats, poured a light amber color with a thin white head with no lacing. hoppys taste was strong but not like hop devil or sierra nevada. Aftertaste was clean. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 27, 2004 I discovered Tupper's beers last summer on vacation in Williamsburg. The hop pocket ale knocked my socks off when I sampled it in a downtown Williamsburg bar. I stack it up there with Sierra Nevada as one of the finest Pale Ales around. The pour is very heady, with a nice straw-brown color. The beer is extremely hoppy, but not overpowering, with a nice malty base, and slight citrus/chardonnay overtones. A rock-solid pale ale. rhapsouldize (174), Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 25, 2004 An amber colored ale with a light tan head that was a bit weak. Malty and hoppy, but not as hoppy as I was expecting. Very drinkable. Left a slightly bitter aftertaste. Overall, pretty yummy. Schroppfy (1810), Ohio, USA Mar 20, 2004 mmmm - so bitter, so fresh, a bit of pine but a lot of grapefruit, and blood. Just a fine beer.
