A very nice ale, went quite well with Thanksgiving dinner. Very, very impressive hops, but not overpowering.

This one just keeps on firing flowery salvo after flowery salvo til the hops begin to feel like a tempestuous weather pattern.

UPDATED: JUL 19, 2006 Very very good with plenty of hops to keep me satisfied. Fresh hop juice was the first impression when taking a whiff. Then a raw hop leaf. the rest was just awesome.

If you like Hops, you’ll love this. Too much of an aftertaste for me. Enjoyable every once in a while, nice change of pace.

One of the best aromas you’re likely to find in an IPA: a rich, sweet smell that greets you from a couple feet away from the open bottle. Buttery, rich mouthfeel is well balanced by spritzy, bitter, juicy hop flavor and bitterness. Unlike some, I think there is plenty of malt to balance the taste out. Finish is very dry. Certainly a top flight IPA. My thanks to AUBREY for this great American classic.

Smooth and wonderfully flavourful, but an extremely bitter aftertaste. Strong hops, but not overpowering. A great steak beer!

I like hops. I really, really like hops. Therefore, I really, really like Hop Pocket. Clubs you in the head with hops--a killer American Pale Ale.

Quite hoppy. But too dry also. Like another rater said, needs some maltiness. Not nearly as good as Anchor Liberty. Overall, it is good, because of it’s hearty hops.

I’d put this beer up against most any good IPA. Good hop flavor and aroma without being overpowering. Very bitter and dry. The only thing holding this beer back is a lack of maltiness to blend with the abundant hops. If you love hops, this is a good choice.

Ah...magnificent hoppiness, which is definitely a strong point with me. A good pale ale worth having again.
