| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 18, 2007 A bottle from Ty5592 An orange amber pour. A light hoppy aroma which is adaquate for the style. A light maltiness that blends well with hops to make this a good drinker. Not a thin beer not a fizzer good palate. A very good APA. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 9, 2005 Updated: Oct 29, 2006rerate-got some bottles in DC that were less than 2 weeks old. No diacytl this time-just a fine nice grapefruit hopped pale here. i bumped up my rating a ton to reflect the new experience.
bottle-thanks to kinz for this one-bottled on dec 10, 2004 (fairly fresh). pous a beautiful orange hue with a 1/2 inch white head that was pretty smooth. Medium carbonation. Ok, this beer is infected with diacytl. I could smell it right out of the bottle. The aroma had notes of butter, carmel malts and piney hops, but the diacytl is just too much. flavors mimic snpa at times with a little more biscuity malt backbone. very similar hop flavor to snpa. I was really looking forward to giving this one a good rating (new river pale is great), but something went wrong with this batch. damn diacytl! MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 27, 2003 I may be rating this a little high but I'm a hophead, and this beer is a hopehead's dream come true. Orangish color, moderate to low head. Flavor is a hop explosion somewhere along the lines of Stone Ruination. It has a nice citrusy flavor. Excellent beer. ucusty (1922), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 15, 2007 pours a hazy shade of amber with light off-white head and a small amount of spotty lacing. Light hop & caramel aroma. Grapefruit on the mouthfeel green apple on the finish. very sessionable beer. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 19, 2005 Pours a rich amber/yellow. Initial taste and nose is all hops. Sadly, both fade as the glass approaches half full. Hoppy bitterness fades as well. A clean finish is nice, but I expected a bit more staying power. A really good hoppy ale that really could’ve been great with a bit more , well, balls. Very nice on a hot day.
