The color and aroma are a perfect golden hue and a crisp but not too floral bouquet. Bitter as the style would suggest, but different from the aggressive, west coast ales who rely soley on Cascade hops. The Mt. Hood makes a definite difference in body and bite. Overall, a good example of the American Pale Ale style. elnadeau (786), Laguna Niguel, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 4, 2003 Clear brownish amber, medium head. Hops dominates aroma. Balance is on the hops side for an APA, could definitely jump up to an IPA with it's dry back-end bite. Enjoyable if you are a hophead. TaktikMTL (2798), Montréal-Nord, Quebec, Canada

Slightly murky orange in color. Flavor is dominated by hops also. Little resiny in the aroma and flavor. Finish is bitter and dry. A little to sourly-bitter for me though. This beer will be a big hit with hop and bitter lovers. Kinz (2221), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 3, 2003 Deep gold as described, nicely lingering white head. Aroma is of bitter resinous hops, with some citrus notes. The taste is of pure hops, unencumbered by any discernable malt flavor. Somehow it still works. The Cascade on the finish starts to veer towards a slightly vegetal flavor, but is still acceptable. Refreshing for such a dry and bitter brew. IPFreely (1470), Lewiston, New York, USA

Flavor is reminiscent of an IPA but maybe not that extreme. Very refreshing. ryan (1781), Beltsville, Maryland, USA

Nice lacing. Big hops aroma. Citrus and pine dominate, a slight malt underneath. Flavor is also hop dominated (earthy and citrus), but has a solid semisweet malt presence. Medium body, dry and bitter finish. Lively carbonation. A refreshing beer.
