gotohelunc (385), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jul 26, 2007 Bottle. This is exactly what a APA should taste like in my mind. Interesting floral hops aroma. A cloudy golden color underneath a tall white head that stuck around surprisingly well for a pale ale. I just love the flavor...high quality hoppy bitterness, roasted grains, then some subtle malts come through on the finish. The extreme hop-forward style really reminds me more of an IPA than a APA, but either way this is one of my favorites and would be a near perfect session beer.
AllAboutStout (523), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Aug 8, 2008 Pours a light gold in color. Nice frothy head on the pour, but is quickly gone by the time I sit down with it. Plenty of sediment and "floaties" in this clear beer. Smell is reserved hops. Taste is the same. Really smooth and easy drinking. Pretty highly hopped for being just a APA. Decent beer. DarkBeer (47), Ohio, USA Aug 6, 2008 Lovely. Hoppy aroma, hoppy flavor ... and all balanced nicely with the malts. Superior to Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, I think, because it is more assertive. A memorable ale, and one I’ll be drinking more often. Optigon (557), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Aug 3, 2008 Pours amber with a fine, white head. Aroma is rather hoppy with a moderate mouth feel and a solid hop flavor. RONCOD (76), Pennsylvania, USA Jun 12, 2008 Cloudy amber color with no head on it. It had a slight caramel aroma to it. More hops flavor than I like. zappafan99 (331), Rock Hill, South Carolina, USA May 20, 2008 Well, my bottle says 11/30/07..made the end date by a month. Smooth with lots of non- soapy hops.Cloudy amber color. Hop aroma. Not a thick palate, but not watery. Good..I would have bought it again if it wasn’t discontinued.
