COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tuppers’ Hop Pocket Pils is made via a complex hopping schedule which includes dry hopping for weeks over whole-flower Saaz and Mt. Hood hops. Also used are Saaz, Mittelfruh, Spalt and Mt. Hood in the kettle. The beer is bottled and keg conditioned which provides very fine carbonation and a fine head.

Trade from drowland - thanks! Murky light orange, soft white head, but of lacing. Some cake mix and yeast in the aroma. Flavor has a nice Saaz induced hoppy bite, a bit of honey sweetness, some yeastiness, finishes with some cereal-like graininess. Mouthfeel has a bit of creaminess to it. Not bad at all.

12oz bottle fresh from the brewery. Wow, I had no idea this was rated so high as a pils (#3 at the time). I honestly had hoped it was a landbier; no worries though because this rocked. Huge flavor for the style with some lingering bitterness. This is not a timid, watery offering. well done.

Pours cloudy, golden w/ rocky white head and nice lacing. Aroma is sweet, tropical fruit (pineapple), yogurt, dough and flowers. Avg carbonation, crisp/med body. Some nice malts giving it a biscuity backbone w/ light, fruity sweetness. Hops balance nicely & dry the finish, bringing in some herbal and spice notes. Very good pilsner, plenty of complexity. Not really a thirst-quencher, but very satisfying.

Big thanks to GT2 for this one. 12oz bottle pours hazy golden/orange with a small off-white head. Aroma is very malty, slight hops, caramel, bready yeast, and fig. Nice full rounded pilsener flavor, flavors of yeast, hops, with a slight spice. Nice Pils!

Pours cloudy yellow in my tumbler with a creamy white head that leaves thick lacing. Aroma is bready malt, with a slight yeasty character. Body is thin, and a little lifeless. Flavor is much the same. Slight bready malt, with a yeasty bite. almost reminds me of a hefeweizen.

This pours a slightly murky gold color with a thick head on top. There’s some light lacing on the glass. Very malty in the aroma; pils malt, bread, caramel, and a bit of grass and herbal notes follow. The flavor is better than the aroma. Sweet bready malt is here with a little cream corn and grainy herbal notes but it gets crisp and dry in the finish with quite a bit of bitter grassy hops. As this warms, it reminds me a little of Prima Pils, which I didn’t initially see the comparison. Perhaps not as clean as I’d like but this is a pretty solid Pils.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy gold with a moderate white head that lasted through the first two sips and left light lace. Pleasant aroma of mild malt along with a few notes of lemon. The flavor is mild bready malt followed by some light lemon and mild-moderate hops bitterness. No problems.

UPDATED: JUL 3, 2011 Bottle. This is one of the best pilsners I’ve ever had. Nice hay yellow body with solid white head. Very crisp, lots of hops for a pilsner. And yet, its super balanced and smooth. Just a perfect summer drinker.

Poured a hazy yellow color with an enormous white head. I don’t know if this was over-carbonated, but the head is way too big. Aroma has lots of pepper and oranges. Some cereal notes as well. Taste is smooth, but a little watery. Good malty flavors with oranges and spices in the finish. Some hoppy notes with some dough and grass. I’m wondering if I got a bad bottle because this tastes different from most of the descriptions on here.

Whole Foods Market, DC 4-pack ($11): I just got this because I wanted a pilsener and I hoped that this would be passable. I was pleasantly surprised to find a beer geekish treat. Anyway, it pours a golden colour with a nice white head. Aroma has got the lemon, lemon soap, grassy hops, a few more hops here and there, oh and some hops. The different hop varieties play off of each other in some a clear and clever way in this beer that it is worth mentioning. Different kinds of bitterness are present from start to finish and the hop flavors undergo a veritable transformation. Leaves some lasting aftertaste and a smile on your mouth.
