COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Portly Stout is our robust stout. It is brewed with three different dark malts and has a creamy, smooth mouth feel. We kept the hops to a minimum so that the roasted malt character could be the predominant aspect of the beer. It is just a solid, straight-up stout.

Turtle Anarchy's flagship brew lies somewhere between a porter and a stout (the name makes sense). Rich, porter flavors with a bit of a stout-like mouth feel. The aroma is welcoming, and a bit warming. Nice brownish head and good lacing. All in all a very nice beer.

Tasted on 7/14/12 on draft at the brewpub. Pours nearly black, dark brown with a thick brown head that leaves average lacing. The nose is dark chocolate, cocoa powder, and a touch of coffee. The flavor is quite dry with the cocoa powder and bitter coffee dominant, and just a touch of creamy milk chocolate richness. The body is a bit fuller than medium with average, smooth carbonation, and a long dark chocolate and coffee finish.

Creamy, reddish tan head. Roasty aroma. Tastes nice and roasty, not overpowering. Very complex. Great local stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From tap, pours a deep red with a thick tan head that lasts. Mild coffee aroma. Much lighter feeling than I expected for a stout. Coffee and chocolate are the predominant flavors, with a lot of roasted malt. Bit of spiciness. Finishes too light and clean.

This is one of my favorite local beers. Best served on tap. And it's unbelievable with the bacon cheeseburger pizza at Kay Bob's in Nashville.
