Oakes (6784), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Feb 8, 2006 Hazy amber colour. Toasty aroma. Quite sweet with a hint of caramel. Not much hop. Pretty bland, straightforward beer. jazz88 (2191), San Francisco, California, USA Jul 3, 2005 Bottle. A golden color with a laced off-white head. A vegetable and mildly malty aroma that is lightly hopped. Smooth enough and with enough hops and citrus to enjoy but nothing stands out. A fine base hit but nothing more. mjg74 (1727), La Mesa, California, USA Apr 16, 2005 Pours a golden/orange color. Head is pretty much non-existant. Aroma is sweet and slightly citric. Small hop presence is noticable. This beer is rather sweet tasting. A little bit of hoppiness and a little maltiness as well. Sweetness seems to dominate. Very little carbonation. Vac (2175), San Diego, California, USA Mar 1, 2005 This pale ale pours with a golden amber body topped by a thick off-white head with some lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet and malty with a slight honey note and a slight citrusy hop note. The flavor is sweet and malty with notes of fruit. Not much for a hops in this brew. Light to medium bodied, smooth and dry in the finish. DarkElf (2453), La Jolla, California, USA Nov 6, 2004 (12 oz bottle) This is a very fruity pale ale, with a definite honey sweetness and a grainy maltiness. Bitterness is low and the hops profile is minimized. The nose is also grainy, and sweet and sugary like a cheap honey beer. Light in body, thin on the palate, somewhat cloying in the finish. It’s an amber color, perhaps slightly hazy, with a smallish head and poor retention, in spite of the significant number of carbonation bubbles rushing upward. With barely a ring of head, lacing is obviously not an option here. In the end, this is just an average pale ale.
