Oakes (6853), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Feb 8, 2006 Hazy amber colour. Toasty aroma. Quite sweet with a hint of caramel. Not much hop. Pretty bland, straightforward beer. beerguy101 (3473), Newark, California, USA Oct 6, 2002 Lt brown color, med head. Lightly hopped, lightly malted. Nice balance of hops and malts, Finish is clean. Aftertaste is malty, slightly bitter Lubiere (3231), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Oct 12, 2003 Nice little find on my last trip to Cali. Nice light brown colour, with a nice nose of hops. Light malts and hops, enjoyable DarkElf (2650), La Jolla, California, USA Nov 6, 2004 (12 oz bottle) This is a very fruity pale ale, with a definite honey sweetness and a grainy maltiness. Bitterness is low and the hops profile is minimized. The nose is also grainy, and sweet and sugary like a cheap honey beer. Light in body, thin on the palate, somewhat cloying in the finish. It’s an amber color, perhaps slightly hazy, with a smallish head and poor retention, in spite of the significant number of carbonation bubbles rushing upward. With barely a ring of head, lacing is obviously not an option here. In the end, this is just an average pale ale. Vac (2232), San Diego, California, USA Mar 1, 2005 This pale ale pours with a golden amber body topped by a thick off-white head with some lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet and malty with a slight honey note and a slight citrusy hop note. The flavor is sweet and malty with notes of fruit. Not much for a hops in this brew. Light to medium bodied, smooth and dry in the finish.
