Light yellow wit a white head. Aroma light malty (caramel) and hoppy. Flavor light/moderate sweet and light bitter. Light body. They have used the finest malts from Kenya. Pawola22 (709), Kansas City, Missouri, USA
| 1.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Jul 28, 2008 500 ml bottle. Pours extremely pale. A small, fizzy, white head that leaves quickly. Heavy carbonation during the pour and a continuous stream of rising bubbles. Almost no aroma. Smells like a light lager. Faint citrus and malt. Less taste than a typical American Light Lager. Really hard to describe, but I guess it has a malt and spice hint. Finishes like champagne and seltzer water. Overall, it looks dead, tastes dead, and smells dead. Its worth trying a beer from Africa, but it really has nothing going for it. The bottle says that it was named after the elephant that killed one of the brewery’s founders, which I find absolutely hilarious. Dacrza (252), Great Meadows, New Jersey, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 7/20 | Jul 27, 2008 The exotic nature of this brew (from AFRICA!) is tough to not be excited over... still, responsible scrutiny must be adhered to... predominantly transparent, straw yellow body with discernable carbonation... snow white head settles softly to a quarter-inch haze--yup, it’s a lager... malty, yes, but much more flowery than expected--almost fruity to a malt-softening level (promising)... thin, almost watery in the throat--a Miller Lite experiencewith added carbohydrates and carbonation--I’m going to burp out an elephant... mellow and toothless (ur, tuskless), thin in taste and presence... lagers named Tusker should STOMP--this one slithers...a seltzery finish cinches it: I’m not going to enjoy this unless I have a six of it IN KENYA! | 1.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 5/20 | Jul 26, 2008 Bottle. Pours a light yellow with a white head. Aroma of light fruits, wheat. Flavor of stale wheat. A slightly (very slightly) better version of Heineken. Blech. fredandboboflo (1404), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 26, 2008 Bottle at Peculier Pub. Bread, biscuit, no hop bitterness, didn’t get the fruitiness others have noted. Quite bland, but absolutely nothing offensive anywhere to be found. I feel like I should rate it lower due to such blandness, but that would be dishonest as I found it an acceptable drink, albeit much like alcoholic water at times. I was really anticipating this beer, you know Hemingway and all that. Pours the clearest light gold I’ve ever seen, like water. A thick powerful white head proves it’s true nature. The aroma was mostly fruits, some apples. The flavor was quite interesting; a very sweet sorghum flavor, grass and sweet malt. Sweet and refreshing. I enjoyed this beer. darn1207 (547), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
