KnN (715), Greenbelt, Maryland, USA Jul 12, 2008 Yeah, it’s a pale lager, but not all pale lagers are bad. This one was pretty decent. Pours a pale yellow with a big foamy head. Some nice biscuity aroma with a bit of yeast. Flavor isn’t even remotely complex, but this is a perfectly acceptable lawn mower beer. Ice cold, it wouldn’t be half bad. thornecb (1737), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA Jul 9, 2008 Pours bright gold into a shaker. Bright white micro head with excellent retention leaves whipped cream spot lacing. Bread and biscuit aromas. Soft and sweet caramel with a crisp biscuity finish. C’mon it’s crisp and refreshing and 80 degrees... Tejas (693), Dallas, Texas, USA Jul 8, 2008 Wow, this is crappy & undrinkable. Couldn’t finish this one. Is that 75 characters yet? I hope so. azlondon (656), Fribourg, Switzerland Jul 6, 2008 Appearance: Light, clear golden. OK amount of white head. Nice, small bubbles.
Aroma: Grain, hint of hops. Not much. Metallic?
Taste: Standard lager. Hops and malt. Slightly bitter aftertaste.
Info: 500ml bottle, 6/7-2008 FatTony (121), Augusta, Georgia, USA Jul 3, 2008 12 ounce bottle- my first beer from Africa. Poured out an anemic light yellow with a sparse white head that did not last. Aroma was light hops. The appearance of this brew previewed the taste, very faint, very light. Tasted like a standard American "lite" beer. Very forgettable. gwelch925 (31), Taylor Mill, Kentucky, USA Jun 27, 2008 Updated: Jun 30, 2008Bottle. I purchased this beer more for the bottle and to try more worldly beer. So I was not expecting much from it. It is comparable to the macros we have in the states ,but a tad bit better flavor. Has a nice sized white head ,but it did not last nor lace very well. tronraner (1906), Maryville, Tennessee, USA Jun 22, 2008 Bottle. Pours very pale yellow green with fizzy white head. The aroma is sweet corn and a sort of sparkling citrus with a background of cookies. The flavor is a mellow sweet graininess with some distant citrus hints. Uninteresting, but inoffensive. Crafty07 (391), Florence, Kentucky, USA Jun 10, 2008 My first African beer and I have to say this Pale Lager stands up well to many American and Euro comperable bland lagers.
The problem is, this style of beer has the least amount of taste you can have in a non-American lite beer.
It’s a bit more carbonated and finishes a bit better than most.
Low rating from ratebeer...why am I not surprised?
