jredmond (1015), New Jersey, USA Aug 17, 2007 12 oz bottle. This is the heaviest god damn bottle I have ever held. Finest quality lager?? Not quite. Not a bad pale lager however. Basically...Yuck Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Aug 8, 2007 12 oz bottle. MFG date 22JUL06, best by 22JUL07. Damn, just missed it. Poured into my Sam Adams ultimate beer glass thin, just for fun. Yellow with a lasting white head. Quite a bit of carbonation. Sweet, grainy and grassy nose. Light, sweet grain flavors, a bit sticky, a touch of honey. Some buttery qualities emerge as it warms up a bit. A bit of grass bite in the finish. Not as bad as expected, fairly drinkable. SGTHibbert (100), Perry, Iowa, USA Aug 5, 2007 This was a pale straw colored brew that was sweet and smooth. Alittle cloudy as well went down well enough but not my favorite
mephisto (1144), Taiwan Aug 5, 2007 first kenya beer for me, but one can’t tell it apart from other standard pilsner. pale golden with white top, easy drinking. berkshirejohn (1771), Bracknell, Berkshire, England Aug 4, 2007 330ml bottle. Pale straw with a thick white head that rapidly fades; typical malty aroma; sweet and malty flavour, quite robust and similar to the Eastern European lager style; finish is dry with some citrus and spice - quite complex, and unexpected. Beerlando (2286), Orlando, Florida, USA Aug 1, 2007 Rated 8/1/07. Pale champagne color and appearance. Massive amounts of carbonation. The body of this beer could actually pass for sparkling wine were it not for the larger bubble size. There is a small, pure white head that leaves behind a snake-like lacing. The aroma is lemony and grassy, with a faint dusty overtone. Its not especially aromatic, but the smells that I did pick up were appealing. The flavor is moderately sweet, with lemony, creamy, and mildly spicy characteristics. The flavor is not at all skunky, which is a pleasant surprise. The body is light, but not nearly as watery as most pale lagers. The beer actually has alot of Witbier attributes.
Coming from Africa, I expected the worst out of this beer. Much to my delight, I was mistaken. I bought this beer just to try something different, and after having consumed it, I am a fan. This is honestly one of the best pale lagers that I’ve ever had. Moral of the story: Don’t judge a book by its cover. slimchill (775), Austin, Texas, USA Jul 27, 2007 Bottle. Sourish grassy nose. Cloudy pale yellow with no head. Surprisingly nice flavor, earthy with minor citrus notes. Crisp palate, balanced with a nice finish.
