badgerben (3587), Blaine, Minnesota, USA May 25, 2007 Gold color with a medium head. Light grain aroma. Very fresh grain taste with a little bit of orange on the finish. This was amazingly good for a lawnmower beer. thomasacross (129), Edina, Minnesota, USA May 25, 2007 Bottle. Simply enjoyed trying a beer from East Africa. Generic pale lager but not entirely unpleasant. Flavor was very mild with no real alcohol presence or bitterness on the finish. Color was a little too pale-urine for my tastes. I’ve had worse. JK (2946), Richfield, Minnesota, USA May 20, 2007 A pleasant surprise here. Certainly one of the best pale lagers I have ever had. Surprisingly malty and no perceivable adjuncts. Considerable carbonation in this clean, golden beer. Crisp finish. Refreshing and what a pale lager should be. Top of its class. Skyview (4007), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA May 19, 2007 First beer during Cellar’s Wine & Spirits Friday beer tasting of "Lawn Mower Beers." Pours a light golden pale brew with a large white head that dissolves quickly. Not much of any lacing. Flat aroma of light malt, corn, farm straw, and some vegetable. Taste is watery, light body and nearly hops absent. Finish is clean and hardly and bitter aftertaste. BustedFlat (552), Edina, Minnesota, USA May 3, 2007 12 ounce bottle into a pint glass, pale golden with a medium, quickly diminishing head. Aroma was of grain and malt. Flavor was dominated by light sweet malt, which fades a bit midway through the glass. I’m not a big fan of pale lager, but you have to try a beer from Kenya if you get the chance. I was pleasantly surprised.
sayravai (3720), Helsinki, Finland Apr 29, 2007 (Bottled) Clear, paleish golden with a smallish, slightly lacy head. Sweetish, slightly corny aroma with mild acidity. Sweetish-malty flavor with some corn and low, mildly aromatic bitterness. Quite light-bodied with mild acidity and slightly foamy carbonation. A clean, easy and reasonably refreshing - but hopelessly boring lager. mj (4975), Colorado, USA Apr 20, 2007 Updated: Apr 23, 2007Country whoring again. Yellow. Smelly sweaty sweet nose of straight corn and cereal grains. Wet and slick palate, flavor is bland and simple plastic and corn. Beer2000 (1775), Kristiansand, Norway Apr 12, 2007 500 ml bottle. Pale golden body with a small white head. Vague malt aroma. Flavor has a light refreshing malt and hop character. It’s actually quite harmonic in it’s weak style. I tasted this beer first time at the Airport in Nairobi a few years ago, and it felt a lot better then than home again under a critical séance in Gunnfryd’s flat.
