Horrible rotting cabbage aroma. Tatse is malty but sour, with a metallic, astrigent finish. Dunno bout this one. beersnob73 (14), Florida, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 19, 2004 Again, another staple beer from Africa. Not quite as fizzy as Zambezi. If I had to choose of the 2, this would be my choice. maltdog (514), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 18, 2004 I expected something akin to a domestic lite beer, but was pleasantly surprised. Pale brass color, absolutely clear and swarming with bubbles. Incredibly, the sudsy white head yields lacing as picture-perfect as clouds in a pastoral scene. Light aromas of sweet malt and just-shucked corn greet me, while impressions of grass and rain-wet cement sidewalk smile in the background. Lightweight malt flavor, crisp and faintly sweet, with some honeysuckle and the barest suggestion of lemongrass or fresh cilantro leaves. Very light palate, but with an almost buttery smoothness; even the wimpiest mama’s boy could chug this effortlessly. Slight metallic or cidery tang in the aftertaste, maybe just a pinprick of hop. Better than I expected from a lawnmower beer, and a bucket of iced-down Tuskers would not be unwelcome when basking by the pool. jde123 (715), Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | May 14, 2004 Not a great lager. I had heard many great things about Tusker but it did not live up to them. Pours a calm pale yellow-green, little head, flavor of watered down - no bitterness. caledonian (367), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | May 8, 2004 Pale golden with a trace of a head. Moderately hoppy. A little sweet. Has a finish of something I can’t quite place, perhaps grape skin. [shrug] At any rate, not that bad. Canada is maybe just not the best place to sample it. At first I thought it’d end up a drain pour, but it proved drinkable. BigBastard (668), L.A., California, USA
| 1.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 5/20 | May 6, 2004 Slightly better than a US macro, but not by much. Lots of corn and rice flavors in there and not much else. hopscotch (5472), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 1/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 4/20 | May 3, 2004 Clear, pale yellow lager with a mid-sized, whispy, white head. Mediocre retention. Decent lacing. Who cares? Smells like a gauze bandage, but just barely. Almost completely nondescript. Tastes like seltzer water with just a spritz of lemon juice in it. Ultra light-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. There is no finish... just like an old man, it has no ass end. It just stops abruptly. This beer could only be enjoyed in the 130 degree heat of Kenya. I am awarding a score above 0.5 only because the beer in not actually offensive. fiulijn (7150), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy
| 1.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 1/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 4/20 | May 3, 2004 Pale blond color. Almost no aroma. Thin body, watery, no taste. Just a quite strong final bitterness.
