Brewed in Kenya since 1922. Medium alcohol beer that is a favorite choice for many occasions.

Poured a clear, pale yellow with a smallish head. Absolutely nothing special about this beer. Corn hits you staight away. At least it wasn’t unpleasant.

This is the most widely available African beer in the U.S. If the label didn’t have an elephant and a mention of Nairobi I wouldn’t have bought it. At least it pours with a decent head. Unfortunately, the taste is corny and almost metallic. The finish is even worse. I’ve had much better beers from Togo, Ghana, or even LaCrosse, WI. I’ll look for bottled or distilled palm wine the next time I want something African and alcoholic

Pretty sweet label on this beer. I like the elephant. Pours a pretty pale yellow color with a white fluffy head. Actually not a bad tasting beer. Different. Not too bitter with some nice sweetness. Pretty smooth.

Tusker is inauspicious, but surprisingly good beer. Light, a little fruit (light citrus, not heavy at all), clean and floral in the nose. A little bubbly, and pale. Doesn’t open up much, but flows smooth. A little skunk and bitter alcohol in the bottle after the beer leaves, which is something I always sniff. The bottle knows the beer better than I do.

Bottle. Pours a pale yellow with a disappearing creamy head. Aroma and taste with notes of grain and banana. Medium carbonation. Quite watery.

500ml Bottle: All the usual adjunct notes to it including a little grain and corn. Quite standard for the style with minimal hops & an almost indistinct citrus aroma. Light, golden amber colour with a thin, soapy white head that is really no more than a thin lacing. Sweet tasting with more hops than the nose suggested and a little grain again. A nice, mild bitter finish that rounds the beer off nicely. The beer is quite mild. Light bodied with excellent carbonation making a very refreshing & crisp lager that went down very nicely. The finish is quite dry but this has a great mouthfeel. Not the greatest beer or even pale lager out there but still a solid, very good drink that one should definitely try. * * * Featured in the 1001 Beers List: http://abarwithnoname.wordpress.com * * *

Bottle @ BeerBiker/Scheffel’s 100 countries celebration week (long time ago) Surprise, surprise. Not that bad a beer from Africa. Notes of caramel, hay, clear straw and it could be good for meat balls in Nairobi or Zanzibar!

Okay, this is a very popular beer in Africa and Disney World in Florida. This is their version of Budweiser. It is not a bad tasting beer, people in Disney drink it because of the uniqueness. Golden color beer, decent white head. Taste is decent, non beer drinkers say they will drink this brew.
