Grassy like an African savana. Or like an elephant. Take your pick. I offered it to my friend. He wouldn’t take it because of the smell. It wasn’t stunky and it had a reasonable flavor that I got used to. I would only drink it if it were offered to me. This was my first African beer.

not an attractive beer. some unsavory silica-looking particles in a liquid that barely qualifies as yellow; about the degree of yellow you’d expect in a sudsy tub where a couple canaries had been bathing. a reasonable mimic of a budget bavarian pils, some aroma of saltines and lemon seeds. too dry, but manages to lock in like a patriot missile on targeted thirst, especially if you’ve just sprinted up kilimanjaro. but that’s all you get: like a discussion of bunions, it’s not even remotely interesting. weak bitter finish like they’d used the hop leaves instead of the buds. one final aspect is somewhat redeeming: you get to add kenya to your beer list.

Well, freshness is everything and this one missed by a mile, unfortunately. Had it years ago and while I wasn’t terribly impressed, it wasn’t bad like this. Unfair rating. Willing to try again if I can score a better bottle.

Very bland, unremarkable lager. Maybe it’s better in Kenya.

Very light gold color, medium head. Aroma is a little hoppy and something else..corn? A light tasting lager. Mild tasting, a little sweet and grassy. Slight hop bite. Not a good beer, but it at least drinkable. Mouthfeel is rather thin. Finish is clean and dry. Aftertaste is neutral. Best Kenyan beer (1) I’ve tasted.

Orlando Beer Fest: Nearly clear, but crisp citrus malt is a surprisingly nice beer.

Like most tasters, first came across this whilst touring through Kenya. Was a welcome refreshing beer back then, so interesting to take a followup sample. Pours well, with a descent head. Rather pale in colour but has light hints of malt and hops. Basically an easy drinking lager. Surprised it still held it’s flavour as did not expect it to travel well.

My first beer from Africa! Ok, so this was an extreme light golden colour with a sugary taste to it. Minimal hop presence and underlying malt sweetness. A very thin and boring lager, but a thirst quencher for those hot African Safari’s, I guess.
