My first African beer and was not the most pleasant I’m sorry to say. It poured a light yellow, a lot of carbonation, with a white head that was fully diminishing. The aroma almost smelled like apple juice, or at least that is what it reminded me of. It had a little sweetness to the smell, but was all in all a bit confusing. A slight bitterness in the beginning flavor wise, a more or less malty end. The aftertaste was really non-existent and I guess would serve it’s purpose in East Africa. It was quite watery and with a very light body. I’m glad to check this beer off my list, it was nice, but just not for me.

Color is pretty pale (agree with some of the rating that says a little less color and it looks like (light golden) water. Has a rice aftertaste. No "kick" at all. After it sits a while looses almost all of its taste. Not good at all from my point of view. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 ounce bottle purchased at BevMo Natomas. The aroma is sweet with some corn hints and a little bit of apple, too. A little honey-like nose is present. Transparent pale yellow body with a small, quickly dissipating white head. Starts with almost an astringent flavor. Very prickly on the tongue. Some corny malts come through in the middle before there is a finish of more apple cider character. Surprisingly bitter finish.

12 oz bottle.
Clear pale yellow. Any paler and it would be the color of tap-water. Fluffy white head, decent lace.
Aroma is sweet malts, biscuit, grass.
Flavor is sweet, sugar, maybe some rice, and a mild hop finish.

Clear bright yellow, small lacing white foam ring. Barley aroma and taste, a lager like many others, but it’s the country of origin that intrigues. Bet you that when drinking this in home country it tastes much better. (Velp 201411)

Slightly opaque yellow colour with moderate sized white head; aroma of hay, floral notes and grain, taste is dominated by malty sweetness with some honey notes and minimal bitterness ; not really good but undoubtoubly unique in Europe

A lovely malty flavour with sweet grains. I can’t understand the low ratings. Very pleasant lager for warm weather and very moreish.

Continuing my shitty foreign beer tour. Pours a clear piss yellow with weird floaty dust looking chunks. Aroma is of sour grapes. Taste is slightly sweet slightly sour. Couldn’t finish.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - light golden with a proportionate head. Nose - slight sweetcorn and cooked vegetable thing. Gentle malt in the background. Taste - pale malt with a lime tang coming through. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a good bitter finish. Overall - I don’t expect much from a pale lager, but I do expect a dry finish, which this one does well.

500ml bottle from Appellation Wines. Pours clear pale gold, long-lasting white head. Aromas of corn, cereal grains. Tate is light white sugar sweet, light astringent notes. Light body, steady carbonation, clean enough finish. Not terrible.
