My first African beer and was not the most pleasant Iím sorry to say. It poured a light yellow, a lot of carbonation, with a white head that was fully diminishing. The aroma almost smelled like apple juice, or at least that is what it reminded me of. It had a little sweetness to the smell, but was all in all a bit confusing. A slight bitterness in the beginning flavor wise, a more or less malty end. The aftertaste was really non-existent and I guess would serve itís purpose in East Africa. It was quite watery and with a very light body. Iím glad to check this beer off my list, it was nice, but just not for me.

500 ml bottle - White froth on a golden body, little carbonation which gives it a smooth crisp taste. Smooth malty taste with a nice palate.

12oz bottle. Pours golden with a small white head. Aroma is of malt and some kind of chemical. Taste is of malt, wheat, and what I think might be old shoes. Has a lingering bitter taste. This beer is not good, and I obviously only rated it to say Iíve had a beer from Kenya.

Transparent pale yellow with a quickly dissipating white head. Relatively stunted aroma consisting of metallic cereal and perhaps some honey. Genuinely the lightest and least flavourful beer I have ever encountered. The body is barely present and although a mild amount of cereal malt taste is present, it subsides immediately with a meager hop finish. Despite the lack of flavour and aroma, it certainly isnít repulsive. Likely rather enjoyable on a hot day in Kenya.

Pale yellow colored, small white head. Aroma of some malts, grain. Taste is rather thin on malts and corn, some hay, some sourness, almost no bitterness. Thin, watery body. Wow, couldnít imagine choosing Primus over another beer but there it is!

Bottle at The Reginald Mitchell, Hanley (JDW) Pours a deep golden colour with a fluffy white head. Aroma of sweet grain, bread and floral hops. Taste is the same of grain, bread and floral hops. Light bodied, moderate carbonation and a watery texture. A sweet, grainy finish. A decent crisp, clean, malty pale lager.
