2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle @ BeerBiker/Scheffel’s 100 countries celebration week (long time ago)
Surprise, surprise. Not that bad a beer from Africa. Notes of caramel, hay, clear straw and it could be good for meat balls in Nairobi or Zanzibar!

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
50 cl bottle @ home. Pours clear golden yellow with a white head that leaves quite a bit of lacing. Aroma and flavour are grains, malt, and hops - with a slightly bitter finish.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Can 33cl. present from my colleague Thirza, thank you! Clear golden color, large frothy white head, mostly diminishing, fair lacing; grainy nose, bit corn, light dough, grass; taste light medium sweet and bitter, grainy; medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, aftertaste light bittersweet, bit metallic; fresh lager, not bad.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20
Kenya’s national standard lager, referring to the African elephant. From a 50 cl bottle, with slight gushing upon opening - must be the first time I experience this in a filtered lager. Creamy, medium sized, off-white head leaving some lacing, crowning a pure and clear golden beer with steady fizz. Sweetish, grainy aroma of dry cookies, white bread dough, soaked corn, wet cloth, iron, something vaguely plastic-like and a grassy hop touch without actually smelling of hops. Grainy, straightforward flavour, soft but finely stinging carbo, sweetish and sourish grains with a slick, lightly oily mouthfeel, corny sweetishness, metallic, with persisting grain sweetishness in the finish adorned with a light grassy hop touch, very lightly bittering but otherwise rather thin and a bit watery, as usual in this style. Another boring and industrial pale lager, but admittedly very drinkable, more so than I expected.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
12oz bottle. Pours a pale yellow color with small off-white head. Grainy, sweet aroma. Sweetness is pervasive throughout, along the lines of a malt liquor. Mediocre.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
By far the best african beer I’ve tried. Taste almost like a german lager/pils. A blessing for thirsty backpackers!

Interesting. It was the first African beer that I’ve tasted. I would like to try another.

Shared a 50cl bottle at Paddy’s Martens Inn, Leicester on 16/06/2015. Clear pale golden colour with a medium sized white head which dissipated quickly. Aroma of malt and straw. Medium carbonation, light body. Flavour of grain, malt - slightly sweet. Pretty boring, but drinkable.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle at jambo house Disney world. Frothy whitehead. Plenty of lacing. Pale yellowish and clear. Smells and tastes of grain and semi-sweet cornflakes. There is a detectable amount of hops, just barely. Light bodied and pretty dry. Not good but not rotten.
