40oz (182), Newport Beach, California, USA Aug 19, 2002 If this stuff was brewed since 1922, then it was originally made in British East Africa. I’ll give it some extra overall points just because I can fantasize about being a white hunter, colonial bureaucrat, or Mau Mau rebel while drinking this. Dark yellow color with a thin white head. Bready malty, slightly acidic aroma. Clean, malty taste with a slight sour bitterness. Very refreshing beer, tastes similar to a Kirin or an unskunked European green bottle beer.
NJBeerman013 (609), Trenton, New Jersey, USA Oct 13, 2008 Bottle. Pours a crystal clean golden in color, very small white head. The aroma is minimal with just a hint of malty sweetness. The flavoor is not much different with just a touch of grassy hops added to the party. It is a bit thin, light in body, but highly drinkable, ending in a clean finish. Rynoplasty (254), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Oct 12, 2008 Pours golden with a large white head. Aroma is pale malt and a very small amount of head. Taste is almost all pale malt, not a terrible brew but nothing special. ScottB (39), Jacksonville, Florida, USA Oct 9, 2008 From the bottle while sitting in the airport in Nairobi during a REALLY long layover. Slightly more flavor that Bud Light. Didn’t hate it, but not one I would buy even if it were available where I live. Albert_campion (6), , Greater London, England does not count Sep 27, 2008 Updated: Oct 10, 2008Bottle from local shop. Pours a large, frothy head. Very faint spice aroma, strangely - brought to mind walking past the Taj Stores in Brick Lane. Appearance almost unnaturally gold/yellow. Very thin taste with the faintest hint of malt. Not much flavour to be savoured. Refreshing, but then so is water. tgncc (299), Bellmore, New York, USA Sep 5, 2008 At EPCOT at a beer station. GROSS!!!! It was a typical pale lager, but truly skunky in its aroma. The flavor had a dirt-like quality to it, maybe from poor water in the brewing?? Never again.
