COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed in Kenya since 1922. Medium alcohol beer that is a favorite choice for many occasions.

Diogène (990) - Mirabel, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 20, 2009
Bottle. Aroma is boiled vegetables and malt. The first displeasing aroma disappears after a few seconds to leave a very bland and somewhat grainy aroma. Clear pale yellow with a medium frothy white head with good retention and average lacing. Flavor is fruity with water malt, and some hop bitterness in the aftertaste. Thin body and watery mouthfeel.

Bottle in trade from Snojerk321, thanks! Bottle poured into lager glass- poured transparent very thin golden yellow, medium carbonation of small bubbles, thin white head bubbled away rather quickly. Aroma, if you could call it that, of weak malt. Hits the mouth with a watery thin body, a little malt, some sweetness in the middle and end, no hops to be found. Just another country to add...

NJBeerman013 (969) - Trenton, New Jersey, USA - OCT 13, 2008
Bottle. Pours a crystal clean golden in color, very small white head. The aroma is minimal with just a hint of malty sweetness. The flavoor is not much different with just a touch of grassy hops added to the party. It is a bit thin, light in body, but highly drinkable, ending in a clean finish.

Yellow, crisp, dry finish, oh, and fizzy. A little better than the big three.

Poured into a pint glass. 3.5 A: Pale yellow color. Two fingers of fizzy white head that retains better than I thought it would and leaves no lacing. 3.5 S: Grainy and grassy with rice. Not much going on here, but not as pungently bad as most of the style. 3.0 T: Weak graininess with noticeable rice component. 3.0 M: Light body. Creamy for how light it is. 3.0 D: Didn’t expect much from this and that’s what I got. Not as bad as a lot of swill though. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 06-30-2011 20:34:11

This is an exception to my rule that brew is best closer to home. The only reason (I believe) that Tusker has become so popular is because there are so many tourists in Kenya and it is a novelty to drink an African beer with that oh-so-African elephant on the label. This one is basically plain old beer and is a VERY far cry from the Malt Lager by Tusker, which I think is supremely better and shows more attention to craft. All of this brews qualities are the standard mass produced ones. The end.

Straw-yellow color, foamy head, some hop aroma and bitterness, not that bad, alot better than any American Standard.

This beer is straw colored, with a light head of white foam. Little lacing. Mild vegetal aroma. Not a bad tasting beer, a little bit of sweet honeymalt, a little wheat, some kind of lemongrass flavor, and a gentle, floral hop presence. Light bodied, smooth, clean
