Bottle a gift from Blade86 (Thanks). Clear golden color, white fast falling foam. Medium to high carbonati,on, soft body. Aroma: Sweet malty, a bit caramel. Taste: Malty with minimal unpleasant bitterness in short finish, imbalanced between to high sweetness, maltiness and bitterness. Another boring Pale Lager.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Aroma: malty (slightly caramel), a very little bit of citrus and grass aroma;
Appearance: pale golden, clear, big (quickly falling) to moderate, moderately long lasting white head; Taste: medium bitterness, light sweetness, just a trace of sourness; Palate: light body, thin but little oily feel, average carbonation, very delicate bitter finish
Overall: enjoyable lager, far better than "normal" Tusker

Whereas Tusker normally comes in 500mL brown bottles, this came in 12oz green bottles when I worked in Kenya. The alcohol on this is a bit higher than normal Tusker and doesn’t have corn added as an adjunct. Still, it is slightly more alcoholic in taste when served warm with typical sweetness abounding. Still seltzer palate and essentially no bitterness. Mild grass, lemon, soda, honey. It is certainly not bad like Senator, but usually more expensive for 12oz than a 500mL of Tusker or Safari. Safari being even better and cheaper than Tusker in Maasailand, Kenya.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
One of the few palatable African beers, but after having few a sour maltiness starts working it’s way up from your belly. BYO!

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
March 2008: from BA. Green 300ml bottle, brought back from Kenya last year so I could review it at my leasure.
Still well within its best before date, I poured into a Corsendonk stemmed tulip shaped glass.
Looks like a Dort, a deep darker, old gold colour. Not the bright, light normal lager hue. The white head does stay, but there isn’t a huge top to start with.
Malt aroma, barley and some hops too. Fairly sweet caramel esters also.
Even in the cold English winter this African beer has something worth having. Drinking it reminded me of the Safari and all the excitment there of, wonderful. Malty and clean tasting, plenty of flavour from the yeast and hops. The sweetness of the caramel smell doesn’t come into taste, but a little sweetnes is within the flavours.
This is a good beer, obviously it tastes better in the warmth with the sun on your back, but its mouthfeel is just right. The malt flavour stays throughout and no metalic twang arrives like some malt lagers.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured into a pint glass. Clear, straw color with a half finger of white head that held pretty well for this style. Good lacing.
Smells like corn husks and cotton candy.
Watery taste, mildest bitterness, ends a little sweet.
Crisp texture, light body, moderate carbonation. Fits the bill style-wise.
Maybe I haven’t had an adjunct lager in awhile but this was a decent drink. No off-flavors or bad smell.
