4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 dmschefke (560) - Macomb, Michigan, USA - APR 17, 2009Growler thanks to Hophead22. Pours a surprisingly dark amber color with thin white head. Aroma of floral and slight citrus hops, resin, and a slightly biscuity malt. Flavor of hops evident, but not overwhelming due to a malt balance. Slightly metallic, slick, but overall very flavorful. I was very pleasantly surprised with this! After a few straight disappointments, this was a great find.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 womencantsail (6896) - Garbage Grove, California, USA - DEC 12, 2010
A: The pour is a clear golden color with a finger’s worth of white foam and some scattered lacing.
S: This is sort of broken down into two categories: good aromas and bad aromas. In the good aromas category, there’s pineapple, grapefruit and grassy hops. In the bad aroma, I get body odor, propane, and overly toasted malts.
T: There’s a definite grainy quality to the beer and overly toasted malts. A decent citrus flavor for a moment, but it’s quickly overshadowed by a harsh tannic astringency and bitterness as well as a bit of a chemical/cleaning solution flavor.
M: The body is medium with a moderate level of carbonation and a lasting bitterness.
D: I barely choked down a quarter to a third of the pint; this beer was just rough. Some of their other DIPAs have been good, but this wasn’t one of them.

Growler thanks to hophead22. Poured a clear cherry wood color with a small off-white head. The aroma was very nice with pine and citrus hops and a nutty sweet malt. Citrus and pine hop forward flavor with a sweet malt base. Medium bodied and some warmth. Very light on the bitterness. Very drinkable.

Draft at the brewpub.
Very dark amber/copper color, out of the ordinary for a DIPA. Lots of floral hoppiness, piney, very rich maltiness. Soft hops in the flavor, not overwhelming, very smooth and flavorful. this was really good.
