COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A full-bodied deep amber ale with an emphasis on malt flavor. Munich and crystal malts contribute greatly to the complex character found in this fine ale. O.G. 1.064

Tap at the brewery. Rating #27. Dark red/amber with a light beige head. Sweet caramel sugar in the nose, not super sweet, just a real nice light sweetness. Nice rich light sweet flavor, caramel malts, really nice aftertaste. (1636)

Draft. A hazy red beer with a thin lazing tan head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and butterscotch. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel combined with lighter notes of butterscotch.

On tap at brewery. Pours dark hazy amber with white head. Aromas of caramel, light citrus, light hops, and some toasted malts. Flavors caramel malts, citrus, light hops, and a bit of chocolate. Pretty drinkable and enjoyable amber.

On tap. Pours with a clear, reddish brown body. Tan head. Aroma of caramel and light chocolate. Taste is chocolaty, raisins, bread and very light hops. Some dark fruits. Well made but not my thing. Way to much Crystal. Taste really like a Scottish 70/. Maybe just needs about 1% peated malt to make a great one. Medium bubbles. Sweet finish with a high FG. Not my style of amber ale and both the bartender and brewer agreed.

A: A very typical looking beer for the style. A clear, copper/amber color with a fluffy off-white head. S: A lot of caramel malt with a bit of fruity esters, but no hop aroma to speak of. T: The flavor also lacks the hop character that I enjoy in a red ale. The sweetness is the main flavor in the beer, but it’s somehow not overwhelming. There is also a bit of chocolate and creaminess that I wasn’t quite expecting. M: The body is medium and there is a moderate level of carbonation which probably helps to minimize the sweetness. D: Certainly not the most amazing beer I’ve ever had, but a good one to enjoy and seemingly moderate in terms of ABV. I would say that this beer is more of an amber ale due to its sweetness, but I suppose we’re getting very semantic by going there.

11th October 2008. GABF. Clear brown beer. Slightly dry palate. Best that can be said about this is malty and inoffensive.

Clear amber color/ beige head. fruity hop, spicy sweet caramel aromas. Smooth medium body. Flavor follows the nose with fruity leafy hops on a spicy sweet caramel base. not bad.
