COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A full-bodied deep amber ale with an emphasis on malt flavor. Munich and crystal malts contribute greatly to the complex character found in this fine ale. O.G. 1.064

BlackHaddock (6074) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAY 25, 2016
On the afternoon of Tuesday 17th May 2016 I visited The Tustin Brewery and had one of the most disappointing flights of beer I have ever had. Beer number seven of the eight and the best so far. Mahogany red with just a collar around the rim for a head. Malts rule this semi-sweet brew with molasses pushing through a caramel flavouring and aroma.

Red real clear garnet, malty but lean real drinkable, great carbonation. Bett

Sampled at Great American Beer Festival 9/24/15. Notes of caramel malt, toffee and light fruity esters. Pretty straightforward stuff here. OK.

Tap at the brewpub. Pours ruddy brown with a beige head. Aroma is a little nutty with roasty malt. Med body. Flavor is a little nut, a little chocolate. Cross between amber and brown? Gets a citrus note in the finisf.

30 June 2014, tap at Tustin Brewery. Red/amber, clear, no bubbles. Nose is toasty malt. Med body and moderately fizzy. Bready, toasted malt, a bit acidic. Decent.

Draft at the brewery. Clear red amber pour, with an off white head. Caramel malt, bread, notes of nuts, and a bit of fruit. Malt forward amber, but rather boring.

Draft. Pours amber with a thin head. Caramel malts, light bready notes, and faint fruity citric hops. Balanced; not bad.

thome50 (1283) - Morro Bay via Orange County, California, USA - APR 22, 2013
Tap. Pours a red to brown color with moderate white to tan head. Aroma is chewy malt, slight marsh mellow something going on. Taste, meh. Not complex and nothing exciting.

(Draught) Pours a clear amber body with a medium off-white head. Aroma of caramel, grass, wet leather, and nuts. Flavor of caramel, roasted grain, bread, and earth.

Reddish pour. White head. Floral hops and caramel malt. Simple, boring and not worth the effort.
