CaptainCougar (5379), Rockville, Maryland, USA Jun 16, 2009 On cask 1/26/08 at the Atlanta Cask Ale tasting: Clear copper orange pour has an airy spotty-lacing white head. Aroma of lightly sweet caramel malt with some vinous toasted oaky complexity. Starts fairly full and caramely sweet with some oaky chardonnay balance toward a drier slightly more bitter finish. Nicely balanced and pretty drinkable. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Feb 24, 2008 Date: 01/26/2008

shp555 (1680), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Feb 15, 2008 Pours a copper color with a white head. Aroma is caramel, oak, and vanilla. Flavor is malty, caramel, oak, and a light bitter finish. ChainGangGuy (2523), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Feb 12, 2008 Appearance: Clear, medium brown body with a bubbly white head.
Smell: Whew! A strong oaken aroma with some brown, bready malts and white grapes, but mostly it’s oak, baby.
Taste: Brown malts with a subdued sweetness. Strong oak presence throughout. Hints of toasted vanilla and grapes. I’m unaware of the ABV of this one, but oh, do I ever feel it. All in all, it’s definitely winey.
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Mild carbonation.
Drinkability: I’ve had plenty of wine barrel aged beers, but I believe this is my first beer blended/cut by a West Coast Chardonnay. jsh12bama (335), Alabama, USA Feb 9, 2008 Cask @ ATL Cask Ale Fest ’08. Nice golden color with notes of the chardonnay in the aroma and the flavor. Nice fruity flavor from the wine. Different but good. Hank1980 (734), Athens, Georgia, USA Jan 27, 2008 Cask tasting @ Sweetwater. Pours golden and clear. Taste is of sweet malt. Blened with chardonnay, though not too present. It may have helped add some fruit flavor. Oak aging gives vanilla notes. Finish is very smooth. jrob21 (1252), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jan 27, 2008 On cask at Atlanta Cask Ale Tasting. Points for uniqueness as this one was apparently blended with Chardonnay. That is apparent as you get some fruit, mainly grape, undertones. Oak aging is apparent too with some vanilla and oak aromas. aracauna (2357), Georgia, USA Jan 26, 2008 Pours a clear copper. The aroma is vanilla, grapes and sweet malt. Fairly light body. I’m impressed.
