Thanks to bierkoning for that one. Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass dark, almost black, small head. Starts mild, malty with some chocolate hints. Dry background. Finish with fruity notes of raisins. Okay.

This Dunkel Bock has an aroma of dry chestnuts. I’m not overly enthusiastic about it but I also don’t feel any real dislike.

Bottle 750ml. @ home on the terrace.

Clear light dark red brown colour with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to light malty, bread, caramel, malt. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, caramel, malt sweet, bread. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120526]

Very dark brown, small soapy tan head. Caramel, pecan pie, sweetened fruit juice, toasted bread, basement. But watery body, low carbonation. Easily drinkable and enjoyable, but not very special. Medium sweetness, extending to the short aftertaste. Very reminiscent of the other Dutch bok beers. But more of the smooth burned feel though. Doesn’t justify the price, even in the great looking bottle. (75cl bottle, expensive)
