A crisp and hoppy session bitter. Amber malt provides a pleasant biscuity edge to this pale golden-coloured ale. A blend of English and American hops add a wonderfully floral and citrus-like, long dry finish. Silver Medal in the Bitters category at the Great British Beer Silver award in the Bitter category at Great British Beer Festival 2007.

Cask somewhere, maybe at the London Drinker. (Honestly, my notes donít have the location, but I know I didnít have this in bottle.) Pours clear gold with a foamy, tough head. Crispy malt nose. Light sweet flavor, good biscuit character, touches of bitter straw. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Decent finish, kind of flickers out, fades away a bit too quickly. Still, very drinkable and nice. (OK, Iím pretty sure I had this at the London Drinker.)

Cask, half pint at Queens Head, St Pancras. Naked on the top of a clear, amber body. Floral hoppy aroma. Leafy hops in flavour mixed with lighter notes of malty sweetness. Smooth bitterness on the swallow. Above par for a golden ale (London, 19.02.2011).

Cask at the Battersea Beer Festival, 10th Feb 2010. Light amber with an aroma of orange peel and doughy malt. Decent session ale but not Twickenham at their best.

BBF 2010 slightly hazy orangey yellow in colour. Caramel buiscuit nose with a bit of wet cardboard. Sweet fruity honeyed flavour with a gentle but strict metallic bitterness in the end. Lovely brew. Very quaffable

Cask at the Magpie & Crown, Brentford on 27th November 2009, on the pubís first visit since reopening after a short closure. Gold with a lasting white head. Refreshing hoppy aromas - grapefruit and grassiness. A pleasant bitter hoppy kick followed by a finish that becomes increasingly bitter. Flavour experience lasting to the bottom of the pint glass. Very flavoursome for its 3.7% ABV.

UPDATED: JAN 22, 2016 Amber-gold with a fine clingy white head, the aroma is pine, citrus and sweet malt. On the palate it is initially sweet with floral hops, then an astringent bitterness cuts through to give a crispness that balances the malt and results in a long dry-bitter finish.

Cask. At The Old Fountain. Clear light amber pour with a smallish off-white head. Simple yet deeply appealing aroma - fresh grassy/floral bitterness and very light, not too sweet golden ale maltiness. The taste delivered - refreshing, pungently bitter, but restrained and no alcohol character at all - a beer to drink multiple pints of on a warm day and people watch. Light, crisp, dry body, long floral finish, no aftertaste. A remarkably well-crafted beer, thanks for the "steer" Ang!
