1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
On tap, Look is pale lager with a nice creamy head. Smell is a little sickly, almost putrid but in a nice kinda beery way, heheh. Bitter first taste. Has a sort of weird fruity or sterile something going on here. Almost plastic or artificial, certainly unique. Yes, a strong APA fer sure.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Can: Weak aroma of whole orange. Hazy amber, medium billowy yellow head. Sweet for the style. Orange soda initially, but finishes more malty and beery. Marshmallow also present. Not cloying, but again too sweet for the style. Possibly artificial.

12 oz can. Murky orange brown with a bumpy off-white head. Nose is orange juice and green hay with hints of soap. Fluffy medium body with a buzz, oddly thick. Taste is lemon-lime, grass and honey; kind of muddled. Finishes dry, doughy and metallic.

Johnny Brenda’s, Philadelphia tap: Pours copper with a white head. Aroma is mostly piny hops. Taste is much the same. Somewhat bitter, with an aftertaste of the same. Body is pretty light bodied. Not bad, but pretty forgettable.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Serving: Draft at Catch 54
It pours a deep gold color with a small, white head. The nose has notes of pine, slight citrus notes, a bit of caramel, and a bit of earthiness. The flavor highlights the use of hops, but not overwhelmingly so. The pine and citrus notes balance well with the caramel and pale malt notes. Light to medium in body with average carbonation and a lingering bitter finish. Easy to drink, this APA is a good every day brew.

Pours a hazy light amber with a medium white head. Aroma has some citrus and spice with lightly toasty caramel malt. Flavor is earthy and tangy with some spicy hops and toasty malt notes...slightly sweet up front and tangy bitter towards the end. Mouthfeel is light/medium and lively with a dry finish.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On draft at The Six Paupers. Pour was an orangey golden color with an ok initial head, weak retention, ok lacing. The aroma was orangey, some other citurs and floral notes. The flavor was orangey malty, followed by orangey citrus notes, very light floral, and a fairly zingy spicey hoppy finish. Mouthfeel was full bodied, average carbonation, substantial malty presence. A nice beer.

Medium sized, rocky white head with god retention and a surprisingly nice lace. Clear copper orange hued ale, nice lookin. Nose is ripe with peppery hops, citrusy, fruity and hint tropical. Body is lightly medium, nice carbo level. Nice orangey flavors with a lightly sweet caramel malt backing, spicey and fruity, little lemon and faint pine. Dry, citrusy finish, even a little juicey. Nice APA! Can from Suburbinliquorstore, newark DE.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at North Star on 5/20/11.
Pours a hazy dark golden orange color with a one finger frothy white head that slowly fades into a thin lasting ring. Streaks of spay lacing left behind.
Earthy aroma with lots of piny hops and citrus along with a caramel malt presence. More hop forward in the nose than expected with hints of pine needle, pineapple, grapefruit and orange peel. Looks and smells pretty good.
Medium bodied but lighter than expected and less hoppy than the aroma suggests. Subtle crisp hop bite up front with earthy pine and very faint citrus but I was really let down at how weak the hops were given the nose. Slight lactic creaminess and a prominent malt backbone.
Overall this beer wasn’t bad. It looked and smelled pretty nice but the flavor was a bit of a let down. Quaffable and refreshing in this warm weather but sort of bland.
