Papsoe (9771), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jan 26, 2008 (On tap) Slightly hazy golden with a small, lacing, off-white head. Fantastic fresh citrus and peach aroma from the dry hopping. The body is thin and a little watery with light notes of nuts and a dry, lightly bitter finish. A truly great session Bitter. 21 IBU. 240108 JoeMcPhee (3632), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Aug 2, 2005 Cask. Pale golden-copper colour. Thin white head. Faint dusty arojma, light spicy hop nose, thin malts, caramel and a bit of butterscotch. Flavour is well-balanced, light malt and a bit of blackberry fruit. Spicy hop finish. Lingering soft bitterness. Nice session beer. NoiZe (746), Zeist, Netherlands Jan 23, 2008 I’ve had this one in New Zealand on my honeymoon. Visited the Twisted Hop and drank it there.
Nice bitter, fruity indeed. yalnikim (630), Wellington, New Zealand Sep 17, 2006 Updated: Oct 31, 2006October 27/28. At the Twisted Hop. Beer engine, with and without sparkler, pint after pint.
Light vibrant gold, creamy and persistent white head, lovely natural haze. Citrus and illegal-like resiny notes dominate the pungently hoppy nose. Might be a little intimidating for the uninitiated, if anything. Full creamy mouthfeel delivers a nice juicy sweet malt flavour, more of that pungent resinous hop flavour, with a subtle, fruity, lingering bitterness. So easy to drink that I had one too many. A touch cool from the handpump but it was good enough to never let warm up. My pick of all the beers tasted in Christchuch.
Re-rated and upped from an original 2.8 out of the bottle, where and unpleasant hot astingency and lack of freshness didn’t let the beer show it’s special lively self. Forgot that original comment and get down to the brewpub. Aarleks (399), Sydney, Australia May 12, 2005 Handpump (sparkler) at the Twisted Hop: Hazy amber with a creamy head. Elusive aromas of earthy, herbal, woody hops. I got distinct rosemary notes here towards the end. Sweet woody flavour. Quite soft and restrained but with a nice long, gentle hop aftertaste. Wonderful soft mouthfeel and very nice to drink.
