Lightly kilned caramel malts round out the pungent, piney Chinook dry-hopping. As its smooth mouthfeel dissipates into a pleasantly bitter finish, we hope you’ll find our IPA an elegant outlier from its hometown crowd.

0.33 bottle from Pivoteka Zagreb. Hazy amber with medium off-white head. Light hoppy fruit aromas, some bitterness. Not impressed, maybe not fresh enough?

22oz bottle pours a brown color with a bit of head. Total malt bomb. Hops balance nicely against the malt.

Pours hazy copper with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, pine, citrus and floral finish. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long malty, caramel, citrus and piney finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Can. A hazy, orange-colored beer topped by a small off-white head. The aroma is a tad too malty for my likings, some caramel and bread going on, but there’s also a good hoppyness, with resins and grapefruit. Lightly perfumed too. It’s quite dry and bitter on the palate, nicely carbonated, and with flavors of grapefruit, pine cones, resins and a flowery touch. Lasting bitter finish with orange zest and some flowery notes. Quite nice and easy drinkable, nothing special going on. 150625

Bomber into pint. Appearance: reddish copper, thin tan head. Aroma: pine, caramel, grapefruit, hay, baked dark bread. Taste: bitter pine, some grapefruit, dominated by pale and caramel malt finish. Palate: thin but smooth. Good carbonation. Very good beer.

Well balanced IPA fruity esters and hoppy aroma. Biscuit malt in background. Clean bitter hoppy finish.

Bottled. Color is a beautiful clear copper with fat lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, rum cake, butterscotch and pine resin. Flavor is flat and straightforward with medium bitterness and a strong toasted malt note. Definitely one of the more malt-heavy IPAs you will find in San Diego County. Not enough of the alpha acids to counteract the caramel, but enjoyable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can from purvis beer. Hazy copper colour. Seen other reviews referring to this beer as clear so not sure whats going on there. Nice hoppy caramel nose. Plenty of hop bitterness, but also somewhat surprisingly a fair proportion of sweet malt. Yes, the mouthfeel is thin, but in the words of Monty Burns, I know what I hate, and I don’t hate this.
