Can from Biernavigatie, BB 30th July 2015, large sample. Clear amber to copper color, medium frothy light brown head. Aroma has slight citrussy hops, bit caramel, bit fruity yeast, slight burned caramel. Quite sweet toffee and fudge in taste, soft fruity bitterness. It’s basically caramel, toffee and fruity notes. Nicely balanced, not overly complex, easy drinker. Decent stuff.

Clear deep amber beer, good cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry. Decent fine carbonation. Thin malts, trace of caramel sweetness and thin dry cream. Modest dark orange and a half pinch of spice. Light semi dry finish. Clean but a bit wishy washy.

Clear reddish color. White head and carbonated ok. Nose of some malts and orange peel. Taste lean and fair malts with little to no hops.

Scopey (8789) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 9, 2015
Can from UBrew, London. It pours clear red-brown with a beige head. The nose is sweet, caramel, red cola, dried fruits, candy, berry and some brown bread. The taste is bitter-sweet, earthy bitterness, cola, pine, resin, mild astringency, brown bread, leather and a touch of alcohol with a dry, sort of earthy finish. An adequate amber. Drinks easy enough though.

UPDATED: JUN 6, 2015 12oz can poured into a tulip glass on 01/05/15. Deep red colour with a small tan coloured head which quickly dissipates. Nice lacing, medium to soft carbonation. Aroma of fruit; wood, citrus and hops slightly sharp. Taste of toffee, hops, malt. Slightly sweet with a medium body. Slightly bitter aftertaste. Good, but not sessionable.

12oz can. Poured a dark, muddy orange color with a small off-white head. Aroma was mostly sweet malts, some nutty notes. Light resin and citrus on the finish. Flavor was a strong toasted malt character. Sweet malt notes. Pretty drinkable.

Super deep and hazy amber coloured body with an almost brown glow and hints of ruby with a thinnish, single centimetre tall tan head with an ugly soapy look. Aroma of alcohol, soap, water and the faintest bit of caster sugar. Light-bodied; Earthy flavour with some grapes, pine, earth, caramel and nuts and not much else - fairly bland and one-sided. Aftertaste shows only the same flavours again, and perhaps for only a few seconds at best - mild malt, earth, caramel and touches of vanilla - not too enjoyable. Overall, a relatively weak and mild beer with only subtle malt and caramel flavours showing through this at all. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 20-November-2014 for US$2,49 sampled at home in Washington on 10-February-2015.

Twisted Manzanita Rustic Horizon Red (US) - Amber Ale - 6.8% 60 cl bottle, 3.90€. Red color with some particles in suspension, average offwhite head. Roasted malts profile with decent noble hops aroma, caramellish, with fruity overtones. Medium bodied, average carbnation. Very dry finish. Simple red ale quite good anyway.
