Kevin (1765), Colorado, USA Mar 9, 2007 bottle. light orange tan body with a nice grayish white head. sweet oramge nose with a bit caramel. the sweetness in the flavor is a bit indistinct, i taste the grtains, but can’t really put a name to them, is it caramel? is it toffee? is it vanilla flavored lemons dipped in some caramel and butter sauce? yeah, i think that is the closest i can come here. i like it, i think this one might become a staple, balanced well, a relaxed enjoyable flavor and i could see this going well with a lot of the food i cook at home. Aubrey (2603), Denver, Colorado, USA Sep 29, 2002 Updated: Feb 26, 2005The beer’s texture seems to start off crisp and effervescent, but it becomes a little thicker – and perhaps even chewier – toward the finish. At any rate, it’s really easy to quaff, and it would make a pretty decent session beer. It also tastes great with a barbecued burger ... brings out some of the beer’s woodsy and earthy notes. Malts provide a toasty, cookie-dough sweetness laced with caramel undertones. Malts are balanced by a complementing hop presence (light pine and spruce with a little citrus) that has a nice bitterness level to it (not too much, not too little). Flavorful aftertaste lingers like a welcomed guest. Nicely made beer. It’s best consumed fresh.
